This is a replica of my mechanic’s SS. I’ve never seen it as it’s been in the garage covered with blankets for the past 15 plus years. Maybe getting this will peak his interest in getting his back out and on the road. He couldn’t find reproduction chrome rockers at the time so his is all black. A gift to them.

Started off with a 40 % off one item for Micheals. Hated to waste it so I drove to Albany, NY Micheaals seeing the one nearest me has nothing. They had a really good selection of kits. So I purchased the Monogram 1968 Super Bee there. Then I remembered that right around the corner from that Micheal's was a Walmart. Stopped in there and they had kits. Looks like it must have just been put out on the floor because there were a lot of kit. There I purchased the Ranchero, Supernatural Chevy, The 1969 Cobra Fastback The Nova Wagon and 2 display boxes. A lot of people were looking at them.

If you're in the Albany NY area. The Albany Walmart has them. A great selection. -

Thank you CL. It's actually better looking that what the pics show. I have the Pledge Revive and will use it.

The cans don't say what type of paint is inside. I even asked at the auto parts store and they didn't have a clue. I assume the paint is a lacquer by the way the pint would peal off instead of disolving. And I did spray it heavy. More than I was comfortable with. LOL. Because these 2 have been in the purple pond 5 times each. Never painting another black car. That is for sure. LOL

So. I’m not too sold on clear coat. The Comet has several coats of clear. The Nova none. And they look just the same. The both have this grainy look to them. I’ll coat the Nova with Pledge Revive and see how that looks.

This was mine as a child. Well played with so lots of paint loss. So I striped it. Repainted it. And here it is.The decals I made from a picture on line. Printed it. Cut them out. Sprayed with acrylic gloss. And used double sided tape to attach to the car. I’m a bit disappointed with the gloss of of the car. I used Duplicolor primer, paint and clear coat and it’s just not shiny. Not as good as brand new but a big improvement. Now I have to figure out how to keep the chassis attached to the body.
