Thanks for the kind words guys. Philip here is a link to the Dart with more pics http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v308/avj97/68%20Dodge%20Dart/ Skip the Dart was the Mr. Norms version with a molded vinyl top. For the Firebird I glues 2 think styrene strips to the roof to simulate the seam, then speckle painted the top with semi gloss enamel paint. I held the can a ways away from the body and did short bursts do the speckles of paint lay on the top and create a texture. Antonio the dog dishes are Modelhaus resin and the hubcaps are also resin that I bought from Marc Nellis a few years back, and are based off the 70 Roadunner caps. I chromed them up with that ginsu powder stuff (I can never remember what that stuff is called LOL). Thanks to all for the comments.

Red Line Tires
Jeff Johnston replied to imatt88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree, by far. and they are hard resin... They are a little more but I much prefer Norm's white and red lines to anyone else's. -
To my eyes this angle illustrates the "off-ness" of the rear quarter. I still built (2). The first for a build off and the second because I had to do a Hemi Cuda...as off as it may be the kit does just about fall together.

Anyone here play guitar?
Jeff Johnston replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Andy there are many versions of the Epi Les Paul right from beginner ($150 ish) onto almost a grand. The thing is that an Epiphone Les Paul or SG (both affordable beginner versions) will ave a different neck feel than the Fender/Ibanez/Peavy/etc guitars. You really need to play then to see which one you like. Guitar center, if you have one close by, is a great play to do that to see which one you like. This is all the Epi guitars online at GE for under 200. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone,Solid-Body-Electric-Electric-Guitar,100-200,New-Gear.gc?categorysearch=true . -
Jim I love the conversion on your Corvair. This was actually a convertible kit and the top in the kit is a convertible uptop...I painted the uptop the same light tan and you are welcome to it if you want it. JJ

Yes agree Ibanez makes a great product. But i still stand by my statement that for the same money, you really cannot beat the Fender Squire bullet. -
I painted this MCW 1966 Ford Emberglo paint. Tried to make this a 66 convertible, but I made a few mistakes...You mustang folks will see them Onto the next project !

TESTORS paint prices....OUCH.!
Jeff Johnston replied to AMT4EVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There are so many alternatives. At Wal-Mart you can buy color place flat black, gloss black and many other colors for 93 cents a can... Krylon makes an excellent semi gloss black that I use somewhere on virtually every model I build. They also have all shades of semi gloss tans for interiors, etc... I'd love to find a non Testors non Tamiya aluminum paint. I have yet to find one that looks like the metalizers or Tamiya aluminum. Any suggestions ? I bought a large can of Duplicolor Whimbledon White maybe 4 years ago or more. I've painted at least 4 bodies with it, and the 5th this weekend. I've painted many interiors base color (2 tone) with this. I paid less than 5 bucks and its still going... -
Building Music
Jeff Johnston replied to walt francis's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I build to the sound of the TV. I used to watch (actually listen) to a lot of Forensic Files, etc on True TV after 8:00 pm. Now all they have are those stupid most dumbest shows, which I can't stand. So now its mostly Discovery, A&E or History channel. -
Mark Taylor, please pick up the courtesy phone.. Mark Taylor... The Black Cor-tona is one of my all time favorite cars...Ferrari correct; no... Cool...absolutely, positively yes.

I paint a handful of bodies, and the come spring usually build something totally different that i had prepared... My paint is in my garage, which is attached to my house, under my family room, and somewhat subterranean. So if its 30 outside its still in the 50s in the garage...and I can paint in that temp with no issues at all. I have for years. I have a 66 Impala, Aston Martin DMS and 240 Z painted for winter projects. I also have to paint a 53 ford.... I bet I build one of them judging by previous winters

Need quieter compressor
Jeff Johnston replied to Steve362's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
another vote for the compressed air tank. -
Ismael I thought of you the other day, I swear I did. I was at a hospital and there was a blue Pontiac G6 coupe sitting right next to a new C6 Corvette. Then I said to myself I wonder how he's is doing. I think you go through life and interests come and go. I had many years that I barely built....maybe one kit every couple years.

That was a neat video. I was actually most impressed with the American guy speaking what sounded like perfect Japanese. Impressive, both things. To have that ability, to fluently speak Japanese or another language I wish I had. I think visiting a location where you can clearly communicate would make it so much more interesting.

Thanks Bill... We'll see how they open and close once I get it all together. I also see I failed to say in any of my posts (except the last one) that this will be a GT. I have the grille from the 66 GT 350 and the GT grill bar from the 67 AMT kit, which is 25th scale, but the piece fits perfectly on this 24th scale car.
