  1. Normally I;d say no. members should not enter. Though I enter one "contest" every year, run by a local club in the area (I do not belong, the day/time does not work for me). The model club does allow entries of their own models into the show. Not once have I ever thought that a model of the club member who won wasn't deserving. It's judged fairly, So normally I'd say no, I'd not feel right entering. But these guys run a very good fair contest.
  2. policecarmodels.com has what you need. They have superb service and very fast shipping. If you have questions, email them and you'll get a response within a day....usually within a couple hours. Highly recommended. I think this is what you are looking for. . http://www.policecarmodels.com/susmsmdledli.html
  3. AMT Made a 68. They come up on ebay occasionally. Red with white stripes on the boxart.
  4. Wow that's a great build and very unique. Not something you see every day.
  5. whoa sweet paint job !
  6. yeah I agree shake it or it will run clear. I am on the same bottle for at least 2 years and no issues if I shake it.
  7. really really impressive ! I've been General Lee'd put over the years but this is a very interesting build.
  8. Mike... now that's one nice hobby room !
  9. I have actually the room for a hobby area but for some reason I prefer to build in the kitchen....someday i will take over the basement room for my hobby area, once the kids have flown the coop. This is my set up at the kitchen counter... its a bit if a pain to clean it up every time I build but I do it... This is my presto-chango model supply cabinet. Looks just like any ole' jelly cabinet. Until you see whats inside This is the entirety of my stash...there are maybe 6 or 7 more than when this was taken. I store these in the back unfinished are in my basement. The dresser next to the shelf has most of my model spray paints, nail polish colors, MCW bottles, junk models, etc. This i the bench in the garage where I do my painting.
  10. Exactly Jon. It defeats the whole purpose of an interactive forum. I used to belong to another forum that actually had a grammar and spelling rule (which I broke constantly) and a search first rule (which I also broke constantly). I decided to stop posting there LOL
  11. Why are you apologizing ? Even if its been discussed its still OK to ask and I still find the answers interesting. I also like seeing the pics posted of hundreds of kits stacked up LOL So its been done before and it'll be done again, and personally that's ok with me. For me its 50 unbuilt. I keep it about 50 because its manageable for me. I have paint for just about all of them. I build one then I buy one... So I am always right around 50. I don't stay attached to the built ups either. Except for a handful I;d never sell. I do eventually sell kits so I can have PauyPal money to buy more stuff
  12. LOL thank you. I never liked them either. They never grew on me...I never had a retrospective moment like I might have for the Cobra II or Volare Road Runner where I said to myself, hmm...they were kind of cool weren't they. In my opinion of course, they are bum ugly. AMC cars failed to be interesting to me after the 69 Rambler, with the only exception being the Javelin/AMX. I hope they sell a hundred thousand Gremlin models...I really do. just not to me LOL
  13. I've yet to build my 67 Galaxie not because I won;t but because I want to get another so I know I have at least another one to build someday...or I hope in vein that Revell will kit a new one up...
  14. Indeed I did Mike... Thanks for that tip. You can kind of see them in this pic.
  15. Hey Patrick. The Wheels are from the 1965 Mustang Fastback kit (Revell-Monogram)
  16. I also use the Nason when I do urethane clears. WAY WAY cheaper than any of the Dupont or other popular Urethane clears. Though...I have also been decanting Testors Wet look and airbrushing it on, and I'm getting just about the same results as the Urethane. Question Matt on the Nason. Are you using any kind of reducer or just plain 4:1 like they say ? I am using 4:1 and I still feel like I could add 25% reducer but I don;t date mess with it .
  17. wait 2 years and buy it with 30,000 miles on it for half the money. I bought my 05 Saab in 07 with 31,00 miles.. It cost 32K brand new...I paid 15.
  18. Very nice work. I had a stink of a time on the front window too and I'm still not completely happy with mine. I held that thing in place for an hour before it finally sat (kind of) right. One question. How did you make the white decals ? I make mine on inkjet and I cannot put any decals over black because they are to transparent. I ended up using the blue POLICE decal on the kit. Curious how you did that because the white :"Trenton police" on the black looks absolutely perfect.
  19. I see you like the Mopars LOL My favorite is the Red, white and blue Challenger....very nice all of them.
  20. I dig the panel truck too !
  21. Very cool stuff and I like that you have such a range of subject matter and all equally done. I also agree that for me building models is an art form and rises above the hobby status. I think that's at least how it is for those of us here who love it so much.
  22. Well that means my 05 9-3 will be worth about a cup of coffee soon. Great...another fine example of this wonderful world economy. I have to partially agree with king whatever...Saab's were ugly in my opinion too. I never liked the looks until the body style changed on the 900 in the mid 90s. I bought a 97 and loved it... then I bought an 05 9-5 (5-speed) and I still love it and drive it every day. Unfortunately it looks like my best plan wiil be to drive it until it blows up at this point
