  1. yes mine had problems too...bad probems. I loved the car, but ended up just geting tired of getting stranded, and shelling out the bucks. I had to replace 3 valves, and it cost me 550 bucks in 82'. Then a clutch for the same. I ended up selling it and replaced it with a very fun and reliable Camaro.
  2. This has been a long time restoration project. When I saw the new Root Beer color, it was the push I needed to complete this one. I had one just like this back in 82'
  3. Happy birthday Tom !!
  4. Spike...go to a model contest or club meeting and you'll see that there is more grey hair there than not LOL Dude, your not too old to build, your just getting started ! Oh..I'm 44 today. and still no grey ;-)
  5. In 67 that color was called Emerald Turquoise, and it is one of my favorite GM colors...great build. I like the fact that you gave it that mean hunkered down look, yet did so with the Drag hood and bigger rear tires. Very tastefully done !!!
  6. This is the AMT kit with the doors opened, etc. It's painted Lime Gold by MCW with 2-part urethane clear. I hinged the doors and trunk, and added all the details such as engine wiring, trunk mat, fuel line(s), etc. If I could choose any 1:1 non Shelby Mustang as my favorite, this would be it... Hope y'all like it
  7. looks inspired by the Bullet car. nice !
  8. Wow that is smokin' hot !
  9. Hey Bill. Actually the trunk mat is just a photo of plaid fabric that I made into a B$W photo via photoshop. I print it on plain white paper and cover it with clear packing take to give it that slight "shinyl vinyl" sheen Here is the pic I use if you want to use it.
  10. Wow I'm having Deja vu LOL. Nice color. I did a very similar 69 a couple years back.
  11. I've wanted to try that as well, as well as the true flames you are so good at. For me it's really just having the time to practice....and practice....and practice. I always would rather just build, but I saved a 49 Merc for the day when I can finally paint flames....
  12. I can't wait to see this one.. You are the king of the Starliners !
  13. Almost done.....just needs backup lights and door handles...
  14. Izzy this is quite simply one of the best, if not THE best model we've seen on the board. Absolutely stunning work !!!
  15. That looks so good... What's most impressive to me is that I KNOW the piece you started with. Suffuce to say that you have proven that you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear... Very impressive. I had a resin king piece, and I ended up giving up on it and turning it into a junker. You nailed this one !
  16. I never was much into Nova's.... But then I started seeing everyone's in progress, got inspired, and I had to do one... Painted MCW Autumn Gold, a standard 69 color. Wheels are modelhaus and the caps are from Arrowhead Aluminum Accessories, with Alclad chrome paint. I also used some Shabo dry transfers for the Goodyear lettering. I neglected to do the polyglass lettering because lining up the G60-14 is almost impossile to get straight (the G, the 60 and the 14 are all seperate...not strung together..) LOL One thing about the steel wheels...Don has some steel wheels where the center lip is ground off. This makes the dog dish caps sit down into the wheel a bit more, and I think it adds a bit to the realism. Don H showed me these at NNL east, and I bought 3 sets. I reccomend them highly.... I will get more into this once I finish my Mustang...But I wanted to jump on the Nova progress bandwagon.
  17. now that is the coolest New Style Mustang I've seen yet ! What color is it going to be ?
  18. I really like this one. I have a similar Nove in progress thats Autumn Gold...darker and kind of a greenish tint to the gold. Personally I think the capless Rally wheels look good, with just some chrome paint on the lug nuts. nice paint job too !
  19. Yet more progress This poc reminds me that I gotta get after those tail light lens backs with some flat black...
  20. Some more progress...going slow. polishing in progress.
  21. There are really no readily available 68's other than the oldies. The Revell will be out soon, and I assume it'll be a nice kit. The AMT 67 is a great kit if your looking for just the body style. I am looking foward to the Revell 69.
  22. I use the same one Todd uses and I also paid 70 bucks. I also blow up my kids bike tires and pool toys with it LOL Its very worth it and I've never had an issue.
  23. Quit posting real parts LOL Your killing me. This is really incredible stuff.
  24. Hey Kelson. I will hit it with a couple coats of 2-part urethane clear. After Iit dreies for a couple weeks ,I'll definitely polish it (with polishing cloths), and finally with some fine cut polish and carnuba wax.( I sometimes get away with not having to polish. If its real warm, the urethane clear will tend to lay dowm smoother...But that's really a ratiry. Even if it looks good after the clear dries, it always looks better after a polishing.
  25. I think he has too. I actually emailed him prior to NNL East 2007 asking him if he could bering me one. He cast one up for me, and brought it to the show. He did mention at the time that he no longer does it. But he still has the mold, and I'll bet he'd do one on request. He did for me, and he does not know me at all.
