  1. WOw lots of 70 chevelles LOL I like that color a lot. It looks like ford Indian Fire. What color is that ?
  2. Very cleanly done model...I love the last picture with the old Testors glue and paint. THat is a classic photograph ! Very nice.
  3. That is an incredible model. The engine is my favorite part !
  4. I have about 3 models all finishig at the same time...this one I have been working on since sometime in December. It took me 3 times to be happy with the hood. Paint is Testors bottled Lacquer. I really like that stuff... Whacked off the roof and built it. I bought a modelhaus 70 convertible boot, but it only fits the AMT kit. The Revellogram package tray is actually too short. So, this one of from a 63 Galaxie (oh the shame...LOL). I also tried real hard not to cover up the rear marker lights..gave up, as they cover up with the first coat. It's done up like my friends car. I will give this model to him. Yeah I know the kit engine is a 454 and not a 307 (hahaha). I also could not figure a good way to delete the grille "SS", so I left it alone. I added resin door handles and some photo etch parts from MCG.
  5. I'd have never thought blue would go on that car but it does...and it looks great!.. Very nice work on that model. I wish the new one had the same hood.
  6. That's great ! I'd love to see close ups of the rest of them as well...very interesting stuff !
  7. OK I'll play. My 1:1 daily driver...which I do a lot of. June 1st it will be 4 years old, and I just turned 111,000 miles ! Stock photo of my other car...My wifes car. And the car I wish I had a lot more time to drive...The rain here is hindering my fun already !
  8. I just said to myself "the Modial is not a bad looking car"...which its not. But then I thought I coul prove it was not the ugliest Ferrari...which I could not. LOL Yup...the Mondial is definitely the ugliest Ferrari. But then that's like asking who is the ugliest Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.... ;-)
  9. That's a mean looking bike James !!! Nice !!!!
  10. I can't keep my hands off these Choppers LOL I love the change of pace..though I still have at least 5 cars on the bench too (2 almost done) I also picked up a Testors - Franklin Mint 1/9 scalt Harley the other day. A bit pricey comared to teh REvell Choppers, but I could not resist.
  11. Just a couple more progress pictures. Put in the windows and added the spoilers. Interior
  12. Now that's one great looking model !!!!!
  13. Those flames look great !
  14. Wpw that is looking great...the brake work is outstanding.
  15. Yeah no kidding...sheesh almost a thousand bucks. That is one heck of a nice build though...and you are 100% correct on the R&R... (Really Rough LOL). You should try it...I'll bet you'll get a ton as well.
  16. Bill I am building this for my Uncle as he was one of the lucky new 78 Pace car owners back in 78. He sent me the kit to build for him, which I gladly am doing. Though the 78 was not the fastest Corvette (by far), my opinion is that even today, you;d be hard pressed to find a better looking Corvette ! A 78 with an L-48 and a 4 speed "ain't no slouch" either !!! Dan..the red strip is actually very thin vinyl stickers typically used for RC cars. I cut it in thin strips and layed ot on. I then cleared over them. Looks prety good...except I have to admit I did not get the widths perfect all the way around. Though its hard to sitting on the table, it'll be noticible in close up pics.
  17. Cleared !! Will try to polish today...though since its going to be in the 70's here again today, I think there is a good chance I'll be spending all day oputside in the lawn...doing chores.
  18. ooh great kit ! You don't see those much. i have a 1/32 scale (looke 43rd though) that I have been messing with for a couple years on and off. I had the chance to buy the 1/24 scale curbside and I did not buy it. Dunno why.
  19. Keep the pics coming MJ. This is such a cool project...I can not wait to see what color you decide to paint it.
  20. I put the decals on. Now I am ready for the clear coat, which will be a 2 part urethane clear. Since the rear quarter kit decals are ruined, I'll put some Fred Cady decals on after the clear (clear will ruin those fragile decals).
  21. Some red stripes..next of to the clear coat.
  22. I painted something else over the weekend. Building this for my Uncle. Might not have been the fastest, but certainly of the best looking Vettes ever made IMHO. Oh, and this is Monogram kit (Revell) which turns out to be a turd compared to the MPC... I always loved the 70's MPC Corvette Kits
  23. That color is very cool...what is it?
  24. This kit builds up nicely, with no problems whatsoever...You'll love it !
  25. Not sure I am happy with how the paint job came out...but I'll built it anyway LOL I also have a Torch I have plans for. I love these things...
