  1. I do as little as possible....but in my spare time... "I'm Batman"
  2. Like Billy, I also stack the AMT cases. Here is what I have on display now. Aftre a while I always end up ebaying builts to fund unbuilts :-) Here are all but 4 of my unbuilt kits.
  3. I like this one http://public.fotki.com/AlbertWallace/show...1/s4200076.html
  4. Here are a few updates to the progress on the Camaro. I I went with the black stripe. Not because I thought it looked better, but because I ruined the white one LOL. Though I now like the black better. This is still not cleared yet. Dash with printed gauges. I need to fix the radio face because it has a blue hue. Interior is the same color as the exterior, consistent with the era of the car. I know you could not get this color blue interior in 69, but I'll pretend you could LOL I need to still touch up the paint line on that convertible boot area behind the back seats. _________________
  5. I use a urethane clear brand called Nasan. It's 2 part, and as many times as I've asked about a recuder, they swear I don't need one with this stuff. It works great. The reason I mention it is that it's only 30 bucks for a quart of clear as well as the bottle of hardner. That's alot less than the DuPont Chroma-clear I was pricing out....by like half. I agree it will go bad before you use it all LOL
  6. WOW Izzy ! How on earth did I miss this thread ?!?!?!?!? My friend, you have now officially crossed over to "that place".... LOL I always have enjoyed your beautiful builds; but this one is the defining build for you Izz..you are nailing it ! I am in awe !!!
  7. I think that on a custom they would look great. But for a guy like me who builds 98% factory stock, the Testors lacquers are just too flakey. I like the bass boat description. I say they look like a 70's Ludwid drum set ! It's a bit frustrating for me, because I honestly thing they are better then Tamiya. I use the gloss Red and Gloss black jar through my airbrush. I have yet to find a better product when thinned with the same brand lacquer thinner. I have also done a few solid color paint jobs out of the can that came out great. Just a little disappointing for me. But then again....I love the MCW paints and they are never too flakey. It's the process of ordering and waiting. I'd love to go to the LHS, grab a can of an "XYZ" metallic color and actually have it look correct (in scale) on the model. But I do think I'll pick some of that orange for my 49 Merc....
  8. I can't honestly think of any. But I can think of several cars that I would like to see as the more of the mainstream. Such as the Biscayne (vs: Impala), Tempest or LeMans (vs: GTO), Fairlane standard roof (vs: the torino fastback roof...), Plymouth Satellite, etc...
  9. What a good looking model...I wish we could get those here in the states (the 1:1)
  10. Hey Terry. Welcome. I am in NH but all the way over on the coast (yeah most people don't realize that NH actually does have a coastline LOL...even if its only 20 miles long !!).
  11. Is that paint laquer or enamel ? If its laquer it sure looks like it has the correct metallic flake...it looks perfect. The testors Metallic paints (laquer) I've used look very flakey...like a bass boat. Your looks perfect. JJ
  12. I remember building that car as a kid. Mine was molded in yellow ! I'd definitely pony up the 80 bucks for a reissue of that kit !!!!
  13. This one. ALbert Wallace sent this to me and I dropped it...and it cracked in 2 pieces. So I eventually got a hacked up body off of ebay. I then took the front from the hacked body (which was good) and the rear from the one Albert gave me....and I ended up with this.
  14. Here is the drivers side door...I have since removed the passenger door and I am building the hinges for that side.
  15. Here is what I have been working on as well as a few other kits. This is the revell kit.
  16. Nice looking model !! My 69 Mustang has 4 drums, and stopping is something you "plan".. LOL I have front disc spindles for it, and I had the money saved to do the conversion until Christmas came...and the $$ went toward kids presents...
  17. Here is the top 5 for me...in no particualr order of "want". I know I already responded, but a picture is worth 1000 words.
  18. My first try at building as beater. It was fun and I will try it again...in fact I already have the car in mind. I bought a 69 Firebird AT Kay-Bee for 7 bucks because I eanted the OHC 6 cyl engine. I'll build the kit as a junker one of these days.
  19. Ya MJ .. and you know how I LOVE red Mustangs ! Looks great and I love how the the 67 turned out too.
  20. Here are my "wishes" 1967-1968 Ford Galaxie 500XL 66-69 Ford Falcon (any one of these years) Any 70-73 Firebird Formula (with formula hood obviously) 74 or 75 Firebird MPC 70 Cuda MPC 72 - 74 Cuda 68 Chevelle 69 Pontiac Grand Prix 72 Pontiac Grand Prix 68 Chevy Impala
  21. I agree...that's a very unique and extra cool paint job. My eyes hurt just thinking about painting something like that by hanb LOL Great work !
  22. Well...while I wish the dang doors would shut, I'm I guess still happy with the results.... I never have very good luck with the doors, if the kit has opening doors. Except maybe the 58 T-bird. Anyway, its done. ** Testors Gloss black lacquer... airbrushed, cleared and polished. ** Hard to see but the interior has scale motorsports leapoard skin in the seat middle. ** Wheels and tires are from the 49 Merc..the wide whites are the 49's blackwalls painted with testors white acrylic. ** The half moons are from the 56 kit itself. I lowered it as much as I could, but wish I could have gotten it a smidge lower. I used upside down and modified 72 AMT Corvette front spindles. I also had to move the a-arm up by cutting it off (its molded to the frame) and mounting it higher. For the rear, I just flattened out the spring, and instaled it into a groove I cut (lower) into the frame. Next time I'll glue the doors shut, or make my own hinges. It took shaving a ton off of the dash to even get the doors to this position. Hope y'all like it ! I am now building a 70 Cuda, as well as a fully detailed 69 Camaro convertibe (I'll open the doors and trunk on that one).
  23. That is some great work and a fine example of a model that should be...very well done in every respect. The paint is superb and I am a sucker for any model with opened doors !
  24. I l ike that a Lot MJ. You still have a model Genie blinking up all this rare stuff LOL
  25. Here are some updates Holes in the frame and floorboards needed to be added... engine compartment not done. different hood
