  1. Beautifully done as always ! I like the spoke wheels a lot. I have one for "someday" as well.
  2. I'm not shocked by this. Revell is a stand up company and I knew they'd do the right thing. They also stopped charging shipping for replacement parts... Great customer service, even better since the new owners. Now if they can only figure out how to charge under 20 bucks for the kits...
  3. Here is mine. Done up as a Mailibu. I cut the top off the Monogram kit to make this one, and turned the street machine hood into a standard flat hood....though I never figured out how to get the SS off of the grill and not ruin it LOL. SO I left it on. I built this for a friend to replicate his 1:1.
  4. In 1970 the "Twister' was a special stripe package built to be sold exclusively in Ford's Kansas City Sales District. There were Mustang, Torino and Ranchero Twister packages. I plan to built a Torino as well. I built this using Keith Marks excellent Decals. Testoes one coat paint and urethane clear. I know, the rocker panel molding is missing :) It interefered with opening the door.
  5. I just tape a straw to the nozzle and spray it into the jar.... Just put the end of the straw over the nozzle and spray it into the jar.
  6. Awesome. The TS brilliant orange is definitely real close....it looks great.
  7. I finished this a few weeks ago. Started with a Ghost rider MPC Kit, which is a 82 body with a carburated engine...thus not an 82 lol I sanded off the cross fire injection and called it an 81. I have since put license plate on this car, covering the "1982" molded into the rear. This kit reminds me how glad I am that we have modern tooled kits now...lets just say it didn't just fall together hahah.
  8. I agree, and I also have had really good experiences with Revell. They used to charge shipping for replacement parts, now they don't. That's a small thing, but still a nice gesture to their customers.
  9. Me too. I bought a 97' 900S new, and I loved it. Had 2 kids and it got too small... Today I have a 2005 9-3 turbbo and I absolutely love it. It's was quicker than my 97 and it handles nice. It also gets 35 MPG highway....and that's in a car thats not a dog at all. I had a chevy mechanic temm me once that at 95K miles, you'd cut yout finger if yo ran it across the rings on a chevy...but on a saab it'd be as smooth as glass. JJ
  10. Dang...a house for 500 bucks. That's nuts ! (in a good way)
  11. Hmmmm...I never really thought about "why". I love cars, and I like to build stuff...I guess thats it. :-)
  12. LOL No, I didn't real all 3 pages. Though, I see you came to the same conclusion that the GT was a whole different car. I have to tell you that every year I waffle back and forth. I have a 69 Sportsroof that I have often considered selling to get the latest style GT convertible. I have not had the guts to actually do it, but I have seriouslty considered it. The new GT is a great driving car and I am happy for you.
  13. Harry, I've rernted several V6 Mustangs. They're not great...but not bad. Not a WOW Car.. Admittedly, I think the manual tranny might be a lot more fun, so my comparing that to an auto mught not be fair. I've driven a couple GT's. Its WAY more car, in every way.... The other side of this coin is that you can get an 06 (or so) V6 manual for REAL short money. I bet if you had the $$ to put real dual exhaust and a cold air intake, you'd probably be pretty happy with it. My friend and I both had 2000 Mustangs. Both V6. His was true duals and he had that cold air intake on his. I will tell you that his car drive like an enirely different car....So there's an option for you.
  14. Hmm, it could be that. I tried everything I knew, including honing out the center of the wheel so it'd slide on better. I was afraid to press on them too hard, for fear of collapsing the entire rear suspension. But your right, those pics definitely have the wheels under the wheel wells like they are supposed to.
  15. I'd have not thought to fixed that trim. I think its a nice build. I recently sold a Resin built 68 Muistang GT-CS for almost 200 bucks. I hoped to get the 60 bucks that the resin kit had originally cost. You never knoew what people will pay. Oh, and that car is way better than my GT CS was. People want what they want, and in some cases are willing to pay fo rir.
  16. Good observation Tommy. Doors either swing in or out. My process the same for both, except for where the hinge rotates. In "innies" the hinge rotates on tne door, and on "outies" the rotaiton is in the fender.. You can do it. If I can do it, anyone can LOL Outie Innie
  17. Yeah I had a really hard time getting the ride height correct, and even more so, getting the wheels to sit properly "inside" of the wheel wells...not stick out of the wheels wells like a 70's musclecar. I never was happy with the rear wheels sticking out, and believe me, I had them on and off a dozen times. I am convinced its the kit...or at least I convinced myself of that
  18. Finally got this one done...
  19. italianhorses.com is Alex Kustov's site....and he writes for them. I stopped going there a long time ago because if the know it all mentality. Brians model cars is the same way. The only time I Post on Brians Model cars is when I need a Ferrari question answered, because I know Alex is there, and I'll get the correct answer. It's not a great pleace in my opinion. The site, like the mag, pales in comparison to model cars mag.
  20. MJ you are the KING of restorations. Very nice ! Will I see you at NNL east this year ??
  21. Hmmmm..... I truly intend to build every kit I buy. Though, I definitely have a few that are sitting there, waiting for the right day, or the right motivation, or the right inspiraiton, or the sun and the moon to be in the right allignment...or... Those, for me, would be an unbuilt Bandai Fiat X 1/9, an unbuilt AMT 67 Galaxie, a sealed 74 Ford pickup, and a few others. For the Galaxie I think I am waiting until I have another one...which someday I will. But it's an interesting question. I have some that I've bought, and never started. Or, I painted the body and put it away (I have a lot of those) Others I buy and start right away. I can't explain it. Case and point. I've had the 70 Mustang for a year, and just started it recently. But I also bought the Ghost Rider Vette last week (ebay), and its already painted, cleared, and the interior has a coat of paint on it. I don't get it
  22. Nice. REAL nice... One quesiotn. Where'd yoo get the Eagle ST's ? Are they dry transfers or resin ? Jeff
  23. Here is my start on the 70 Mustang. I ordered the Twister decals form K Marks.
  24. Looking good ! My only suggestion is to only do one door at a time. Get one side completely done before moving to the other side. Or else the body gets flimsy and mess up the allignment when your done. Keeping the one side "on" will keep the body straight. Once you jamb the open side, it'll be rigid enough to do the other side.
