  1. Thanks Torsten, sorry for not replying sooner, haven't posted for a while, have been busy modelling though, managed to keep things moving after I managed to find some Humbrol poly cement in a local toy shop, I haven't used this type of glue since I last built plastic kits as a kid and teenager, god its hard work and dangerous, but better than no glue at all, no major disasters so far! ( really miss my Plastic Weld) I have been using super glue as well for some parts but I think i have some liquid glue on the way ( Tamyia quick dry I think) if anybody has any experience with this glue I would welcome some feedback, I have put both builds on hold just for the next week as I am waiting for some item's from K F S ( mainly exhaust stacks and resin exhaust system for the K100) as well as the glue, I have been working on the interior of the Aerodyne, this is causing me a few headache's because I can't build it in the way I usually work on cab interior's, because it is split above the top of the windows its difficult to know which parts to fix first and where to stop so that you don't cause problems later, the big problem though is that I don't have enough of the diamond pattern upholstery to finish off the interior, I do need to find another Revell Aerodyne kit to finish this one off, I need the upholstery plus the cab entry hand rails as I used those from the kit for the K123, I need the Cummins twin t 475 for another project and the chassis for the next build ( Kenworth ) any way that's enough rambling for one evening, a few photo's of progress on the Aerodyne
  2. Its looking good, love watching your ideas come together, its going to be a beast! watching and learning.
  3. Enjoying watching this come together, great work so far, well worth following.
  4. Excellent kit bashing, scratch building and detailing, a real top job all round!!! always enjoy watching your builds.
  5. I really like these old Dodge cabovers, they have real character, its looking really good, nice colour scheme too.
  6. It's all looking good.
  7. Really nice work on all the detailing, it looks fantastic!!! you look like you have more than a few horses lying around in that garage waiting to be put to work?
  8. I always forget to look on this part of the site, i will have to check it out more often so that i don't miss great work like this, a really interesting idea and so realistic, you got me thinking.
  9. It's looking good, interesting project, following along.
  10. Thanks for the kind comment J T but have you seen the dash boards on the models made by Jurgen Kowalski, the Mack that is on the finished under glass section are out of this world, a real master class in modeling, i will definatley try his technique for dashboards on my next scratch build, which might have to be for the K100 Aerodyne. Hi Hakan I have not started work on the interior for the Aerodyne yet, i was hoping that someone might have had a go at casting a correct dash by now as it is over a year since you posted those photo's, i suppose there is a limited demand and it is not worth all the work involved, thanks for posting those photo's, i kept them on the back burner from last year just in case i had to scratch build, the photo's will be invaluable, please let me know if you spot any errors on my models as i know you are the go to guy on anything Kenworth, bearing in mind that i do use quite a lot of artistic license.
  11. Thanks JT, finally got round to taking a few photo's of progress on the K123, the model is almost finished but I am behind with the photo's. Here are a few of the interior of the cab, I am not too happy with the finish of the dash board, my eye's aren't what they used to be, I will change it later now that I have found the dash board etchings by Moluminum for both the Kenworth's, the only thing that I will need to change on them will be to add Tachographs, I will also order the etched radiator grill's for both at the same time, I think one of them is out of stock at the moment but I can wait, the big problem is that I have run out of liquid glue, I am going to have to try and find it here in France as there is no chance of getting back to Britain at the moment, there must be a good model shop here somewhere.
  12. That's quite big then, best leave it and get on with some more trucks eh, looking forward to your next build.
  13. I must have missed this one on the workbench, a real top job on something a little different, you always seem to find something interesting to build and I always enjoy following your projects, excellent work as always.
  14. WOW!!!! that looks so real, excellent work and detailing, the hoses are fantastic, a really top job.
  15. You have made a really good job of that little Bedford, I didn't realize that the kit was 1/24 when I have seen it advertised, now you have got me thinking, I really like it, well done Pierre.
  16. You have made a really good neat and clean job of that IVECO, well done, looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
  17. Don't under sell your self Scott, you build great models, this last one just go's to prove it, B52 (just kidding) but I wonder what a C141B would scale out to in 1/25th.
  18. Hi Mark Do you think he has closed permanently or is it just until the covid problem levels out a bit, I have found Kenworth grill's on the Moluminum site but they come with lots of other items that I don't need at the moment, I probably will order them in the future though as they look to be really good etchings and the other items on the fret will come in for future builds, the etched dash board and decals look good too, looking forward to following your next project, Kenworth may be ?
  19. Hi Stephen, the white top coat looks perfect, that's interesting information about the two primers from Geoff and would account for them being exactly the same shade of grey, maybe it was a small problem with the inside of the nozzle, I also have a can of the Hycote primer and may have to use it next as I don't know when I will be able to get back to Britain for more paint, (quarantine) at least now I won't be too worried about using it, worst than that though is that I have run out of liquid glue and it can not be posted over sea's, really stuck now (or not in this case). The F7 was my first permanent truck after getting my HGV class 1, a great little truck with a good cab and loads of room inside, loved it like it was my own, it would have been the mid 80s when I was doing the containers, like you say we probably passed on the M57 or M62 I was based in Leeds.
  20. Fantastic work!! the cab dash board is the best I have seen, really don't know how you manage to get the dials looking so neat, and the front grill's look perfect, excellent top notch work all round!!!
  21. Looks great, really sets the tractor units off a treat, you could just strap or rope a tarpaulin to the head board or chuck some chains and timber packers on the bed, or both, wouldn't be a big job, just an idea, but it looks fine as it is, nice work!!
  22. A really interesting build, great scratch building work!! will you build a scale B52 to go with it?
  23. Fantastic job!!! well worth all the heart ache and effort, is the grill after market from Double Take? I need one for both my Kenworth but the site says closed, is anybody else producing Kenworth grill's and the cab fans? it really finishes off your Aerodyne a treat, really well done Mark.
  24. Hi Stephen, the cab looks like it primed ok, I have tried Hycote paints but have settled on Halfords primers now, the grey is great for the majority of truck chassis, I always start with a really light cote just to be sure and then build from there, and now I usually finish off with a cote of Humbrol satin varnish just to fix every thing in place, never had any problems ( so far) I even finished the latest truck chassis with Halfords aerosol gloss finish (a first for me) but I toned it down afterwards with a cote of Humbrol satin. Really enjoying your project, I like the look of the 20 foot trailer, I remember them well, your right about reversing them, but they really honed your reversing skills, they were fun especially if you were reversing on rough ground and the weight transferred on to the inner axle, I used to deliver and pick up the boxes at one of container bases around Liverpool as well as the container terminal with a Volvo F7 and then later an F10, back to the subject, its looking good!
