  1. Excellent build and a very interesting subject.
  2. I have a coupleof project that I want to start on soon. Both are AMT T500 Peterbilt 359 with the little window cab. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket resin EXHD available or if not, if anyone is working on a master to be cast? Many Thanks
  3. Superb build and great skill. I like the colour they look right.
  4. Many thanks for all the kind words. I really like the older vehicles particurly from the 1950s through to the 1980s. There is a lot less chrome on these vehicles and they seem to me to be more purposefull than some more modern variants. With regrads to engines I like the idea of a wolf in sheeps clothing and got the idea of building this vehicle from a video I found on Youtube of a 359 with a 1693TA. I am also building the 359 (my version) in the video. The 352 and 359 will be a matching pair. See below:
  5. The 4300 is a great kit to build. Watch out for the position of the front axle it sits too far back. I think I moved mine forward by about 2 or 3mm.
  6. Superb project! Very impressive indeed. I loved the details especially the dash and the seats.
  7. It's amazing what can be acheived with a little imagination and some pieces of plastic. I like scratch building and get a great dealof satisfaction from it. This is a great project with a very pleasing outcome.
  8. Looks like your off to a good start. Something different as well. We don't see many Australian spec vehicles on the forum.
  9. Many thanks for the comments. Ben, I must admit I had never seen that turbo configuration either. That was until I found four or five black and white photo's of the engine fitted into a 352 on Tim's website. I tried to find the photo's again but couldn't. If you check out the details of Tim's web page "why Peterbilt paint the engines white" you will see some Detroits with the same turbo configuration. I don't know if the configuration was unique to Peterbilt or it was a standard on offer from DD.
  10. Whilst building the 352 Pacemaker and the 359 I kept moving the engine parts around the box to get access to the parts I wanted for the truck builds. I thought why not build the engines and then they are out of the way and ready for some future truck builds. Tim has some great reference photo's on his web site some in black and white show the cab of a 352 tilted giving access to the Detroit Engine. The engine is an 8V71T with the turbocharged mounted at the right rear. So I decided to build one engine for a COE truck and one for a conventional. http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki The fans and pulleys are not yet glued in place and there's still some weathering to do. But I will wait until they are installed to finish them off. Thanks for looking.
  11. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words. Dennis appologies for the delay in responding. Any photographs that you have will be helpfull. Particular with the cab tilted to show the exhaust, air intake, tilt cylinders etc. I have made progress and will put some photo's upsoon.
  12. This is a very interesting project and such a large scale to. It certainly will be quite a weight when its finished. Maybe think about making the fulcrum pivot point out of metal? Just a thought. Good luck with the rest of the project and keep us posted on progress.
  13. This is an increadible build and well worthy of wining.
  14. This really is an exceptional standard of workmanship. Superb!
  15. A superb looking truck. The weathering is very realistic.
  16. Nice project and some excellent scratch building skills. The mud flaps on the front are to stop the spray and mud from being thrown forward off the tyres hitting the headlights etc as the truck moves along the road. Dave
  17. This is superb. Another marvellous example of scratch building. Well done! Dave
  18. Nice detailing and great scratch building skills. Dave
  19. Nice straight build. Looks like its just been restored. Dave
  20. I like this alot. It certainly looks like its had a hard life. If you try and get some photo's outside in natural light the diorama would look real. Great work. Dave
  21. This is very impressive!! Its great to see so many people having a go at scratch building. Its amazing to see what peoplecan do once they put their mind to it. Great Work! Dave
  22. Very Nice. i like the paint scheme.
