I'd disagree and say that model car companies should take their cue from armor and aircraft kits and provide a choice of decal or P/E. If you look inside the box of an Eduard Profipack 1/48th or even 1/72nd scale airplane kit I swear you'll see just how gypped auto builders really are!

My shop is, as a hobby shop, only two years old and as a slot car track is 6 years old between two locations. The location, on the other hand, is pretty well known locally as it was formerly Paul and Donna Hubbel's "Slot Shop" which operated as a slot car track and hobby shop in this building from 1971 until 2006!

From everything I've seen, the best thing going in the hobby is the proliferation of options. Not only are we getting some of the best kits we've ever had in terms of scale fidelity and detail, but we're seeing some of the best availability of kits outside of the traditional Revell and AMT options. Many of my customers are younger builders who eagerly await the chance to build the cars of their youth from Aoshima, Tamiya, and now even Beemax.

I cannot express how pleased I was when Stevens sent out the report of not only inbound Revell, but that nugget of the new tool 1968 Chevelle also. I can't wait to put that onto my shelf at the shop!

That Minicraft TR3 is a struggle on its best day. It's unfortunate that the Gunze Sangyo Triumph TR2 through 3A kits will probably never see the light of day again.

This is one of those kits that you really just wish had stayed in production rather than only getting two(!) runs of the tooling nearly a decade apart. Still, the engraving and the fit is incredible and I was glad to get a good deal to finally put this one on my pile. So far I've been using primarily Vallejo Model Air and Model Color, with some Tamiya paint as well. Loving the results to be sure!

This is a build that really served to get me back to cars after detouring into airplanes for a bit (a detour I'm keeping up but I digress). The kit is Tamiya's lovely Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA Sprint with Testors One Coast Mystic Emerald for the paint, Molotow for the trim, and the interior and engine done with varying Tamiya, Humbrol, Vallejo, and Model Master paints.
