Silicone and resin stir stick cleaners
stinkybritches replied to NOBLNG's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
That's a great idea. These spatulas are great for mixing silicone: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Screen-Printing-Stainless-Steel-Ink-Spatula-/272721367567 I work for a silicone manufacturer and we use spatulas similar to these to hand mix in the lab. -

That's what I will be using for my final assembly of bare plastic. I was trying tacky glue because I haven't had good luck using tape to temporarily hold parts together. It tends to stick to my fingers better than plastic. Of course, I haven't tried my Tamiya tape yet. -

Man, some of you are really getting things done. I've only had about 1.5 hours of time to do anything, and most of that time was taken up waiting for the tacky glue to dry. Keep up the great work, guys. ? -
Well, the USPS finally released my package from Model Builder's Warehouse after holding it for 3 weeks. I know, first world problems. Anyway, on the left and right we have a Ford coyote 5.0 and Recaro seats from Clearly Scale. In the middle is a set of 15" Minilites with tires from Fireball Model Works. It all looks like quality parts. This was my first order from Model Builder's Warehouse and I am highly satisfied.

I'm a huge fan of this car. You did a great job. -
Have you tried the backside of the lens to see how it looks? My painting skills suck so I usually use a red sharpie if it's a smaller part.

Looking good.

I don't have much to show at this point. Rear end and front spindles tacked in place to see which of my options to cover the tires, if any, will work. 1 option has already been ruled out. -

I couldn't find anything in my spares that I was willing to use for my build, so I ordered these: https://www.modelbuilderswh.com/collections/detail-parts/products/clearly-scale-recaro-style-2-seats-with-decals-set-of-2-1-25th-scale Not a bad price. I just need the USPS to stop holding them hostage. -
Online hobby shop recommendations
stinkybritches replied to bbowser's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
My number 1 online place is scalehobbyist. Good prices and quick service. I don't buy a lot of Tamiya paint so I can't comment on their selection. -
Looking good so far. As to plug wires, I would go with yellow with black boots.

My main goal is to cover the wheels. How I'm going to do that is my biggest question. As I mentioned in my entry post, I have 3 ideas. I just need to figure out which one best fits my skillset. -
Before the election, when many people were complaining that slow mail service was politically motivated, my mail service was the best it's ever been. Packages shipped, and delivered, from west coast to east coast in 4 days was the norm. Since the election, I've had packages "out for delivery" for several days. I'm waiting for 2 packages now that have delivery dates that have passed and tracking doesn't even show them in my state yet. I will be the first to admit that I have become spoiled. I think most of us remember the days when you had to mail in your order and hope that you received your item within 6-8 weeks. No tracking number either. I know that covid and the holidays are part of the delays, but if a tracking number is provided then I don't think it's too much to ask that the information be kept up to date. Is my package actually still in transit? Inquiring minds want to know.

That is really sharp. This is probably close to what Snake is talking about. -

I seriously doubt you will be able to steal any ideas from me, unless it's how to completely FUBAR your build. ?I'm doing good if I can make it 15 minutes without gluing a part to my forehead. All joking aside, my plan is be racecar on the inside and kinda dull on the outside. I'm not sure how I'm going to accomplish that yet. -

I'm in with this. I'm not 100% sure where I'm going with it, but I have three ideas. All of which are way above my skill level/comfort zone. -

Much like Dan, I've never been a fan of Japanese cars. But the Mitsubishi Starion has always grabbed my attention. -
Yeah, we used to get at least 1 snowfall a year of a foot or more when I was growing up. Seems like sometime around the year 2000 it just stopped doing much of anything. Lucky to get 4 inches now.

I love snow also. You must live in the snowy part of VA. I live along the rain/snow line, about 20 minutes south of Richmond. We hardly ever see snow anymore.

That's a sharp color. Looking good.

I like where this is headed.
