Top build, mate! You got those plug wires nicely done. The 'sag' in them, looks authentic. Those stock wheels are a nice change. They suit it. Good from every angle.

Very handsome ride. Cool and understated, with a hint of menace. Wheels suit it and the paint looks very smooth and well done. Oh, that interior is SHARP!

They say that the devil makes work, for idle hands! I just had a prolonged period of time on my hands. I completed a build in record time (6 weeks)! It's great to have a hobby like ours, isn't it? I'm never bored. I'm either here or at my bench. And if I can't do either of those, I'm thinking about and planning future builds. Top job on a parts box bash! Sits right and looks right

Looks mean and classy, simultaneously. Nice colour choice. I would never have thought about using black as a primer for a red. Great results!

This has been an interesting build to watch, on the workbench. You did a great job on this. Despite it being imaginary, the way you built it, gives it realism and credibility. Top marks -
Thank you very much for all the nice comments. I really appreciate it. I'm considering a Double decker red London bus for a future project. Maybe turn it into a zombie killing war machine and give it monster truck wheels and suspension. hmmm....

Another beauty! I'm drooling over that engine. Very nice work.

Looks like you made a nice silk purse from all your hard work! well done with wrestling it to glory!

Flippin' heck, Jay! That's outstanding. The detailing, weathering, photography....all excellent. Superb

Absolutely superb! Looks 1:1. The GLEAM you got on that paint is amazing.

Exceptional! What a stunning build! The colour is both cool and classy. Top notch engine and detailing. My jaw remains floor bound. -
A real head-turner! Very sleek and beautifully built. I like seeing the custom versions built up. It makes a nice change. The long, flowing lines make those big rims look right at home .

Stunning build, Jim. That paint is luxurious! I like the diorama shots. I'm going to get one of those Fujimi garage set-ups. They give the photos real credibility.

Probably my most ambitious bodywork project, to date. a tribute to the 1:1 I saw at a show Revell kit, with parts box engine, Pegasus wheels. Flocked, wired & foiled. Thanks for looking

Chopped London black cab (new Pics 31/01/17))

Thankyou for all the encouragement and interest, guys. This has been an educational build for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's nowhere near perfect, but I made a mental note of the areas I could improve on. Just in case anyone else tries to foil onto matt paint: What I'd do next time, is to either gloss, or polish the areas to be foiled. BMF onto matt paint doesn't stick well, nor does it rub smooth. A coat of clear gloss should do the trick, as it would provide a smooth surface. CHOPT is now 'Under Glass' -

A quick update: I fitted the tail lights. They're from the AMT '49 Merc. I keep the chrome tree in it's bag, until I need parts, then put it back in the bag. Saves getting fingerprints and rub marks on it. The chrome in this kit was very good, as you can see. The license plate is self adhesive vinyl. Got it from a model boat store, online. The water slide decal kit for U.K. plates is currently unobtainable on this planet. I think they would be easier to use than these vinyl ones. %5BURL=http://s173.photobucket.com/user/geetee66/media/39425DDC-F2EC-4A0D-A633-53DEEEC41DF3_zps4wqmzud6.jpg.html] I've got to add the wipers and check it over, before I do a glamour shoot and put it under glass. thanks for looking -
I love wagons and this looks like it's going to be very handsome, in that paint combo. Maybe this new kit uses an old tooling? Flash can be annoying, but sometimes I find it therapeutic to remove. I get a sense of satisfaction from perfecting parts and cleaning them up. Yes, it's a perverse pleasure. I keep saying I'll get one of these, but I'm strict about how many unbuilt kits I will have on my shelf. Maybe this build will sway me!

Looks like it's coming together, with surgical precision! I love your fine detailing. That fire extinguisher looks very real, as do the excellent wheels/tyres. I'll be watching your progress. -
Only just stumbled across this build. The black accents really make the red pop! Vivid combo! Pin sharp details. I love it
-
Another 1st class example, of how to build a superb model. You've got the black paint down to a fine art. I think everyone here would be chuffed with results half as good, as this! I hope to achieve such greatness, one day!
-
Fantastic transformation! Looks primo now. Great to see a restoration like this. You did it justice!
-
Looks real mean. Like an evil baddie in a movie might drive it.
-
I love the shape of this car. It's length allows those wheels to look at home. Really nice work
-
Nice ride! It sits well and looks proper handsome in that green. Have you ever tried foiling the scripts before you paint and then rub off the high spots once the paint is finished? If you haven't, give it a go, because you can get good results. A blunted toothpick dipped in thinner works, or VERY gently rub it with some 2000 grit wet n dry.

Razor sharp build! I've seen one of these beasts, in the flesh. They're big cars and despite their age, they can still hold their own compared to current supercars, in my opinion. They make the news sometimes, too. Rowan Atkinson binned his in a cornfield, or something and another time, a mechanic took one out for a spin after it had been serviced, gave it some beans and totalled it. ££££££ Ouch!
