  1. OK, I decided on this, with the dump body from a gluebomb Autocar I picked up from Ebay. The body will get stripped and rebuilt.
  2. Yes, I forgot it was stroked to 427. The kit engine is obviously meant to represent a Z-11 though, because that was the only one to use such an intake. The point I was making about the iron PG is that it's an odd choice for the drag version - as you say, it's heavy and not very strong. A Hydro would have made more sense. .
  3. Sorry, that's not correct. I post goods internationally almost every day, so I'm reasonably familiar with rates to different countries. For Royal Mail, the US and Canada are both World Zone 1, so postage prices are exactly the same. Australia is in World Zone 2 and costs a little more. As an example, a 500g (1.1 lb) package would cost £12.95 to both the US and Canada, or £13.45 to Australia.
  4. May I join in? I've got the itch to build a truck and I have a few in the stash.
  5. That's exactly how I got it.
  6. Only the '55 has the 409. It is presumably intended to represent a Z-11, since that was the only W engine to have a valley cover separate from the intake manifold. Edit - why they decided to couple the "hot" engine to an iron Powerglide is anybody's guess.
  7. Thanks for the comments. It was inspired by the Chuck Brazier roadster, but I didn't set out to clone it exactly.
  8. Looks like the sub-par FE from the AMT F350 series. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1971-1980/amt1979ford4x4picku/scan0008.html
  9. Built for the TRaK Autorama. It didn't come out exactly the way I intended, but I got burned out towards the end and just needed to get it finished.
  10. A couple of better photos. The tilt front gave me a headache, but that's no reflection on Ed's castings; I've always had that problem with the kit parts.
  11. Nice detailing in the engine bay. Thanks for taking the constructive criticism the way it was intended - I wasn't picking on you about the black paint, I usually mention it when I see it on a build thread.
  12. Nice clean work, but before you get too far - that piece is not a separate subframe on the 1:1, it's part of the body structure. Only the K member and the trans mount would be painted black. Most of the suspension and steering parts were unfinished steel, except the lower control arms which had a coating of Cosmoline, giving them a gold tinge.
  13. Easy to see what it's based on, but I need to find out where it was made...
  14. For a Chrysler Hemi, yes. All kinds of wrong for a Chevy engine.
  15. +1. How about some measurments too? Just the length and breadth of the cam covers would be helpful.
  16. Done. I'll get some better pics up when I have time.
  17. That is ghastly. I'd take great pleasure in ripping that out.
  18. That's a Motor Wheel Fly - same make as the Spyder rear wheeks. Not Centerline.
  19. Yes, Ed is very much in business and if he has something listed as available, it'll ship quickly. More progress, almost done.
  20. Apart from the window, the whole quarter panel bothers me on the Revell/Monogram body. It almost looks like it's been shortened, and the wheel opening is too tall and too square. Also, the lower edge appears to angle up too sharply towards the bumper. I didn't notice it as much on the Boss 429, but I never felt the Shelby I built looked right in that area. I'm well aware of their other shortcomings, but the rear quarters on the AMT and MPC look more like the real thing, to my eye.
  21. Ah, makes sense now. That's a neat project, I'll follow with interest. I've used Plastruct ABS, which comes in channel sections that are roughly 10" and 12" deep in 1/25. This is the larger section, with styrene added to bring the flanges to the width I needed. It's a bit floppy in longer lengths, so you have to take care to keep it straight while you're assembling everything.
