  1. The Early Iron release didn't have louvres. I think the Lemon Crate version might have been the first to have them?
  2. That is indeed an easy one.
  3. Thieves are the scum of the earth. Hope you see some compensation, but on the upside (?) it does appear they're repairable.
  4. Everyone has their own line where detailing/super-detailing becomes more trouble than it's worth; same for "good enough" vs. "I know it's there". The older I get and the more my eyesight deteriorates, the closer I get to thinking "good enough" is good enough. Getting bogged down with detailing and struggling to see what I'm doing kind of takes the fun out of it.
  5. I couldn't make the deadline, but I'm still working on it. I drilled out the headlamps and fitted buckets and clear lenses from a Revell '29 roadster. Now working through adding the last few details.
  6. Ghia was my first thought too, from the clue. I eventually got to it via this one from Pininfarina:
  7. Steve has it right. The Nickey hood scoops were moulded closed. Nice job, the replacement wheels lookmuch better than the ones in the kit.
  8. Got a link? Is it possible they're confusing Limestone with white? I can't recall ever seeing a white Land Rover.
  9. Bingo. That took some finding.
  10. I'm struggling with this one. It reminds me of a couple of others, but all dead ends so far.
  11. *Downgrading* to Windows 10 would be a more appropriate thread title. I hate WIndows 10. I didn't mind Windows 7, but 10 removes any last vestige of control, at least the home edition. I use Linux on my main machine and the only reason I keep Windows on the laptop is for one business-use program, so I'm pretty close to dumping Windows for good. I would strongly recommend switching to Linux if you can. Mint is good, and easy to use if you're migrating from Windows.
  12. Thrashing to get this done, but I don't think I'll make it... Interior is done and cab glazed. Still have some detail painting to do, and I drilled out the headlights with the intention of using chrome buckets and clear lenses, so that still needs sorting.
  13. R/T was only available as a hardtop or convertible. Hood and taillight panel look good though.
  14. That's not bad box art compared with some of their recent efforts. I will never understand why some people like huge out-of-proportion wheels on old cars, it just doesn't work.
  15. About the right size for those wires!
  16. No clue last week, but I know this one.
  17. "what can you use other than a drill thing to make holes?" Good grief.
  18. Wow, that's a beast! I wish Jamie would make some 24" Mack rims and tyres... those AITM ones are a bit rudimentary in comparison.
  19. I saved a bunch of plate images from Ebay and elsewhere, so I have a selection of numbers and letters to copy and paste. I use GIMP to edit the image, resize it to 1/2" wide and print (monochrome) at 600dpi on plain paper. I'm generally doing '50s and '60s California plates, so I paint the back of the printed image with yellow enamel and let it soak through. Then I stick the thing to the model with PVA.
  20. PM sent. Did I miss 434?
  21. Parts look good. Is there any chance of offering first class mail on international orders? I had a few items in my cart, but $35 shipping kills it for me, unfortunately.
  22. Thanks, it's my first attempt at using weathering powder. I used the cheap set from Revell, applied as a wash dissolved in diluted Humbrol DecalFix, following the procedure in this video below. As an aside: I've never heard anyone pronounce the 't' in 'moistened' before!
  23. Interesting project. Did you make those lift axle mounts?
  24. I did a quick overlay of JC's photos. Then I traced some of the body lines from the 1:1 photo. So, it doesn't seem like it needs quite as much surgery as I first thought. The front fenders are too tall, window openings need enlarging and the trailing edge of the front wheel well looks too upright. The rear quarter doesn't come down far enough behind the rear wheels - should be more like the MPC & Johan bodies. Front and rear look too short, but some of that could be down to the difference in photographing a model vs. a 1:1 vehicle.
