  1. Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I can't find much to like about modern trucks. I'd rather see some '50s and early '60s stuff.
  2. It's the Ford FE parts pack engine. No valve cover bolt detail and yes, the distributor is in the wrong place (per the instructions). It would have made more sense to have an offset, angled or front cover distributor drive, but that's easy enough to rectify.
  3. Simple enough to chop off that part and make it a regular bed topper... I'm just grateful to see it at all -hats off to @SteveG and the Round2 guys. This, the '60 F100, the two GTOs, the '68 Coronet, never imagined we'd see a year like this.
  4. I have a stripped 1966 promo. It has the trumpets, but the outlets in the valance are spaced a bit wide, roughly in line with the innermost tail light. The new parts look much better.
  5. No interest in current stuff here either. For me, the mid '60s was the most interesting period for FEDs - I'd love to see kits of the following, but I'm not holding my breath: Surfers Magicar Stellings & Hampshire The Hawaiian The Old Master Greer, Black, Prudhomme Chizler V Will never happen, but there it is.
  6. It was still there last year - link to Google street view Looks like it's since been advertised for redevelopment though.
  7. Only have one boat pic in my reference folder, but steering wheel is on the left. ?‍♂️
  8. The 917-10 and the Tyrell were Matchbox kits, nothing to do with Airfix.
  9. Whoever/whatever generated the subtitles isn't much good with Scottish accents either, they're comical. ? These old Airfix kits aren't bad, I built a few back in the day.
  10. I think you're correct that they are the smaller one. The larger size is really huge... I have a Sand Hog kit that has two of the small ones and four large.
  11. I'm aware of all that, I was referring to the amount of "real estate" on the leading edge of the hood, above the grille.. Maybe it's just the light on the model, but it looks boxier than the 1:1 Steve M posted above.
  12. That facet on the leading edge of the hood/fenders looks way overdone, but I guess it can be reprofiled. It almost looks like they copied the '70 hood without taking account of the taller '71 grille.
  13. I think they've done that to mitigate the effect of the woefully wrong grille and headlight buckets. I would have bought many more of these if they'd got the grilles correct and done something about the warpage problems.
  14. This thread is the very definition of 'First World Problems". I'm sure the majority here know what they're getting with AMT reissues.
  15. Hydraulic tanks are commonly mounted behind the cab e.g. https://www.hydraulic.ee/files/hyva/galerii/tehtud_tood/mb_actros_valsid/2013_07_29_16.39.30.jpg If the trailer tanks are small and cylindrical, then they probably are air tanks.
  16. The custom wheels in the JoHan 1970 Eldorado are similar. I'd have to check to see how close they are.
  17. Shame, but not that surprising. I've bought three Moebius kits (two Ford trucks and a '65 Plymouth) and all have warpage problems, the Plymouth being the worst.
  18. Won't be long before someone suggests a stock vehicle that appeared in a movie. ?‍♂️
  19. It says $41.25 shipping to the UK. For a sheet of decals. ?
  20. Thanks, that's useful to know. I'll look out for an older issue. The reissue I have is the latest one with the "Streetburner" branding. That definitely has the stock Chevy air cleaner.
  21. Of course, after I just paid $$$ for a '67 Camaro annual. ?
  22. The 'Hot Rod' Yenko Camaro was the first release with a big block The B-M version came a year or so later. The first issue in the 'Skip's Fiesta drive in' box had a nice fly eye air cleaner, but the reissue just has the standard one, which is disappointing.
  23. I have an unbuilt double kit, but can't remember how much is left on the sprues. I'll dig it out later. If someone has a current Willys reissue to compare, it would be interesting to see what the pickup parts replaced.
  24. Agreed. Comparing with photos of the 1:1 and the old AMT annual, the front end looks blunt, the front fenders ahead of the wheels extend too far down and the grille/headlight area needs attention. I don't know about the convertible, but the fastbacks made after the GT350-R issue also have a huge gap in the panel under the grille that shouldn't be there (but lack the narrow slot that should be present). I've been working on correcting a Monogram Shelby but fixing one thing leads to another...
  25. Thanks, I knew I'd seen one somewhere, hadn't got around to checking.
