I know exactly know you feel. I thought about leaving the creek dried because I was too afraid to add the resin. I figured I had to start somewhere. Lol.

Thank you. I just added the water ripples. I will update later.

Thank you. I didn’t want deep water, just a stream that looked natural.

This is really looking fantastic !! You must have a background in engineering or architecture.

I pour the resin for the creek water. I made the mistake of gluing the beige before pouring it, so it was a little challenging. It was a scary process, since it was my first time making faux water and did not want to ruin my diorama. I just need to give some final touches, such as some small ripples (to show some small water movement). I also added some random bird drops on the bridge, as suggested here in the forum (I need more practice on this. LOL). Then I need to patch some areas around the bridge and abutment, where the layers of cork are still seen.

Thanks. I might as well just order it. Lol.

Thank you. I’ll have to take a trip to Michael’s and look for that product.

Thank you. I have seen this application on other stuff, so I figured I would use it this way. I like the results so far. It gives random patterns similar to organic materials such as stones.

Very nice build !!!

That will certainly add a more realistic touch to the structures. I have come to realized that working with layers is the best thing. I think of how nature works. If I’m adding leaves, the. I pick a wind direction and think where leaves would end up mostly. Same with any type of debris. I think of where direct sunlight hits less and I add mildew or mold to the structure. I’m a rookie but I just try to mimic reality as close as I can. It’s certainly a huge challenge. Another thin I do is I try to go as close to scale as possible. I have already noticed some of my mistakes in my dioramas, which I will try to make better in future projects.

Yes. I drew them with a pencil. Then I went over the lines with a soldering iron. I’m testing this out to see what comes out of: white acrylic gesso with gray acrylic tint to resemble stucco. I will be adding different layers with different shades. Then, I might paint the stucco wand used a chipping and worn out technique to fade the paint. We’ll see what happens then.

My third diorama begins. The theme is around whiskey. I decided to build a section of an older building with an arch as the entrance to the club. There will be a section of some sort of water body on the right.

I really like that backdrop. You could probably scratch build something to cover the camera. I just started a new Diorama (my third), which will be similar to this one. I will be using a die cast 1937 Ford Pick-Up. I haven’t finished my first two yet because I’m waiting for some products to arrive home.

I have zoomed into the brick work, so many times, to look at the details. It looks so real. Amazing work. -
Thanks a lot. I would like to say that I’m very grateful for the support given by everyone. It has kept me motivated. At some point I will share the techniques I have used (many I obtained from the internet and YouTube channels and others I just thought of).

Thank you so much.

Thank you, Ellen.

Thank you for the reference photo and very useful information. I’ll try the water testing with the wrap.

First, thank you so much for your input. I will be adding a weathered vehicle to the scene once I’m done with all the terrain and scenery work. The bird poo and living creatures are a great idea. I will add it to my list of final details. I will also be adding lines to the pole and some signs. It’s my second diorama, so I have been struggling a bit with creativity, since I’m knew to modeling. Thank you again.

That’s a great idea. I’m going to try just water. It will also give me picture of where the low and high spots are before I add the resin.
