  1. Hi Mario! Very clean built, and the color suits it perfectly. Bravo! CT
  2. Thank you, much appreciated! CT
  3. Hi Lee! Well, I'm certain that if you look up "CLEAN" in the Webster, this is the picture next to the word. I love the subtle scallops. Bravo! CT
  4. Thank you Bob! Happy you like it. Now, as much as I, too, love the dark windows... It was just because I was too lazy to create a credible interior. Really. Those weathered finishes take a looooooong time to complete, as you may know. Something had to give... My way of honoring the Gods of Curbside. CT
  5. Hi Tim! Thanks for the comments, and the reflexions. I was thinking yesterday night that one comical solution would be to get cherished creations to be cremated at once with the late modeler... This way: no junk to dispose of, and "pride of creation" kind of "preserved forever". LOL. As for your four rules, they certainly reflect your wisdom and experience. I could not define it better if I tried. A few trophies, yes, but fun and great memories foremost. Keep warm in this cold winter! CT
  6. Hi Francis! Thanks for your comments, and your ever-present sense of humour! My stash of leftovers is slowly being depleted, but as you can see, my cabinet of finished models is filling by the week. Which got me thinking... I've read many letters from modelers in magazines, expressing concern that "when they pass, wife and kids will just throw all their cherished homebuilt collection in a big cardbox, and dispose of it as if it was junk". So, maybe, this is the fate of those "junk leftovers": They'll return to junk, whatever we may think about it... Who knows? Now, back to the bench. So much styrene, so little time. CT
  7. Hi Steve! Thanks for your comments, I'm flattered. As to VW's, please go ahead, I'm certain you could design and build a SEMA Show caliber beast! The Camaro was just an appetizer! CT
  8. Hi Steve! If we should make a time capsule of the 70's vanners, the "bottle pattern plex" would certainly be included. Mine was amber color, but you get my point. Thanks for the smile! CT
  9. Thank you Eric! Somehow, the term "cool" seems the most widely used as it relates to anything VW. Does-it have to do with the AIR-cooled technology? I'm curious... CT
  10. Hi Larry! Thanks for the comments. Since salt flat racing is NOT the most followed discipline, I was not certain how many fellow modelers would laugh at the analogy to the famous 200 MPH Club... So far, so good! CT
  11. HI! Thank you all. I see the nuance between reactions and replies now. I learned something (again!) today. CT
  12. HI! Since a few days, whenever I open the forum, I notice that I sometimes receive notifications that fellow modelers "reacted" to a particular thread that I have started. Among those, when I click on them to go directly to their comments in a specific thread... it gets me to said thread, allright, but nowhere is a post that correspond to the notification in question. I'm puzzled... Is-there something that I do not understand, or are those "ghost" replies that do not exist? Just curious. Maybe the moderator could shed some light on that? Regards, CT
  13. Hi Mike! Happy you noticed these little details. It's all part of the fun of making your own decals... CT
  14. Hi Steve! Well, as a friend once told me: "I've been trought the 60's twice, and the first time was more fun". seriously, this is "groovy, man" . Even the 8 tracks laying on the floor. And this wood paneling that was the go-to material to complkete an economical and quick inbterior. Thanks for the memories. Allow-me one more... from the Great White North to the sunny California! CT
  15. Please, do it! As for mine, stay tuned, it should appear on this forum in a few weeks, if all goes as planned! CT
  16. Hi! I can easily picture that. I'm finishing a totally scratchbuilt Ferrari powered stramliner these days. It should be on this site soon. It's been a year in the making, and I guess you should like it! CT
  17. Hi! Here's a typical top that I had in my parts box (probably 36 or 37 Ford), that I adapted to this customized Willys. In this case, I only had to narrow it at the seams, on each side. As you can see. mostly anything can be done... Good luck with your project! CT
  18. Hi Steve! Thanks for the comments. Who would built an open-air bug for the beach without the mandatory cup holders, really? LOL. CT
  19. Thank you Chris. I can easily imagine that you long for the salt. I'll make it there someday, next year if all goes well. It's on my "bucket list"... CT
  20. HI! I built the car when it came out in the 60's, and I never noticed this snafu in the illustration... But it DID have a frame, I can report... CT
  21. Hi Oliver! Well, this Camino has just the right amount of mild custom modifications. Classy. Bravo! CT
  22. Thanks for the info, Eric! CT
