  1. Hi Ian! Well, more impressive stuff for us to feast on. Bravo, and keep them coming! CT
  2. Hi Andrew! I did a research yesterday, and 2 companies actually offered those in the 70s and early 80s: One was called the Mirage, the other the Caribou. The Mirage kept the rear roof section and side window, in effect "tunneling" the cargo area. The Caribou had a canted flying buttress roof, a la Camino. Both are frequently offered at car auctions such as B&J, RM, etc. I'll try to build one in styrene! CT
  3. Hi Andrew! Great car, bravo! Do you know the coachbuilder who made those "cowboy Cadillac" ? Or was-it a "flower car" for the service industry? Just curious... CT
  4. Hi Ian! Great mock-up, it shows all the planning that went into this car. Bravo! And I can see there is another race car in the background? This styrene fever never goes away, isn't it? CT
  5. Hi Michelle! Great design, and interesting additions. Love the color! CT
  6. Hi Mark! The basic design is great, and the contemporary greenhouse , with flush fitting glass and steeply raked windshield drag it into the 21st century, in my view... CT
  7. For a second, I tought I saw the Wonder Bread Vega funny-car of yore... The livery was inspired by the bread wrapper. The dots on the Buick look strangely like that... CT
  8. Hi Tom! The chassis swap apperas to be a shoe-in, great. And that fantastic colour... CT
  9. Hi Sir! Great truck, the weathering is world class, bravo! Ans this is terrific photography as well... CT
  10. Hi Phil! Very convincing, looks OEM, Just what SRT might have done, Bravo! CT
  11. The hood tilted forward, but viewed from the side. CT
  12. Hi Peter! Great models, both. Bravo! Do I see the roof of a Charger (or is-it 66-67 Chevelle) on the custom? Just curious... CT
  13. Hi Richard! My tests with Rustoleum clear caused just that, the colour coat to run and "sag" like soap at the car wash... I then knew I either: had loaded it to thick, and/or it was Soooo hot that the Tamya lacquer color coat could not take it. I'll go for spoon test, or more precisely, those white plastic cones that sell for 1$ and contain various scents for the house. My wife uses many of them (any wife who does not out there?), and they are perfect for tests: half round, with a spiral crease and a few flat spots, and molded in white. They don't even require sanding, just a light scuff pad session. We'll see! Thanks. CT
  14. Hi Richard! Thanks for the detailed procedure, and sharing your "secret recipe". I'll definitely give it a try. But I must admit from the start that I'm partial to the Wet Look clear. I guess I have to try new products/techniques since it is now discontinued... If you happen to know people who have leftover stocks, I'm a taker! CT CT
  15. Hi Richard! Great rescue operation, bravo! I tried this Rustoleum clear myself a few months ago, when Testor's cancelled the Wet Look clear, hoping that since both were manufactured by Rustoleum, maybe it would have the same viscosity/flow as WLC. But I found it much "hotter" and less viscous. I'm impressed that you were able to carefully "built it up" on an enamel based paint. Convincing result! CT
  16. Thank you Phil! It took me a while for the lightbulb to shine in my head about it... but better late than never! CT
  17. Thank you Chris! I was able to use Word to select a shade around the "Acid Rush" letters that mostly matched the Testor's hue. Marvels of technology... CT
  18. Hi Tom! Beautifull recipe, bravo! CT
  19. Hi Roy! To paraphrase the old saying: " Everything old LOOKS new again". Bravo! CT
