  1. Man that helps a TON! That's exactly what I was needing. I could have sat and done all the math, but tracking down everything in 1:1 to take measurements is a pita... Thank you!
  2. Yea, Tamiya tape is fine in alot of cases where things are flat, but nothing beats the real deal when it comes to curves and making SURE the line is crisp! But you already know that. The phantom looks awsome btw.
  3. Yea its really disturbing honestly... im considering selling it all and just keeping one armies worth. The stuff multiplies worse than car kits and costs alot more. Thankfully I've spent little of my actual cash for my stuff mainly just traded paint work.
  4. In most cases the vast majority of staff at alot of places are high school kids and those that freshly dropped out it seems. So, it's not that anyone stopped caring, it's that they never did unfortunately.
  5. I may give that a shot. My plan is to test one of the none important pieces and see how it behaves and then go from there. When I ever get to that point I'll show you how it turns out.
  6. Yea and sadly that's only a tiny fragment of it... there are hundreds more.
  7. Yea, it's looking like I'll be taking my chances on the originals ?
  8. Very nice! One of the coolest cars ever in my opinion. The caprice is very nice also! There's a guy who drives by my shop all the time in one very similar. I think it's all original (garage kept)... the man must be in his 80s
  9. Very cool!
  10. Ya know... I hadn't thought about that. I'm so glad you mentioned it! I may just have to spray the kit decals and try to restore them enough and roll the dice.
  11. Not a problem at all... just use good tape (I prefer Tamiya or auto pinstriping tape) when you mask it off. As far as looking good... absolutely. There's a guy around town who has a 55 chevy that's dark blue metalic/ some kinda coral/salmon pink that is absolutely gorgeous.
  12. Welcome Tim, you have found the correct place!
  13. Welcome Lupe, I'm sure the folks around here can get you "off to the races" with a quickness! There's honestly no better time to be a modeler!
  14. Looks like you have some very nice models there Yoshimi! Glad to have you here. This is a wonderful place to display your work, view others, and both learn and share your experiences in modeling. You are among friends here!
  15. Thanks. As you know they consume alot of time and patience! Not to mention money.

  17. Welcome Joe, this is definitely the right place to be to see and learn all about the hobby.
  18. I've been known to use a little "Americana" (craft) gloss varnish. But Mod Podge and elmers work extremely well and is fixable mistakes occur.
  19. That makes alot of sense, I should have known it was something like that to be honest...
  20. Good to know. Thanks for the info! It may just boil down to what I can find... I'm guessing Slixx printed everything a long time ago? I'm curiouse about that story... what's up with that?
