Worked better with my cheep one than my other one. But a good rattle can is easy and Tamiya makes some really good ones. Cool with hydrodiping!

Advice for an Easy to clean Airbrush
Mattilacken replied to Mattilacken's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for al the input guys! I was thinking of a dual action. Do i have a reason to not use a double action? I will look if i seem to find any of the ones you mention here in sweden. Any one that have experience with Sparmax, Evolution or Iwata, they are 3 brands my hoby stores sells? I mostly shoot acrylics and then i will use Zero products which is laquer. I will try that cleaning tecnique, tried something similar yesterday but the brush i have have a 10mm slot bellow the bowl and makes so the "turbulence" does not clean effectivly in the back. pulled the nedle out and its very dirty from just two sprays. -

Hi all! i have a question for the experienced builders out there. I need to buy me self a new airbrush willing to spend about $150 on one, maybe more if needed. I am looking for a airbrush that’s fairly easy to clean out after the job is done. My experience is My cheap one which is hard to clean since the slot below the paint bowl is awkwardly shaped. And I fel that the Aztek I have is even worse. I also want to be able to do details but mostly body work and parts. Any tips is very welcome! i have seen the mega thread for airbrush here but since I have adhd I have a hard time going trough it.. /Anton

So i did a test with my airbrush from the local auto store, it costed me about $30 10 years ago. It sprays way better than my new gun... no spits and the pattern is what I want from my gun. So the new one went for sale to chip in on a new airbrush, suggestions? Would like to spend a maximum €150 for the gun, gravity fed I presume, and as easy as clean as possible since I have no patience for that. A wet sand and an second coat with the old gun and it looks better. Will need clear after I make my decals.

Got some yellow on the body and wing. Still learning how to mix the paint and use the airbrush and it’s hard. My ADHD does not comply well with airbrush so I might just go back to tamiya TS for the body’s in the future. Any suggestions what went wrong and how to fix it? Paint is modelmaster Acrylic and thinner is Vallejo Airbrush thinner. Working around 30psi. Had the first mixture to around 3/1,5 next mixture felt better but I added in the pot so I don’t know the ratio. First mix made the orange peel. I am using an Aztek brush.. wish I bought something else, it’s a pain to clean.

Thanks dude! I am also glad that I manage to continue the build and that I didn’t give up.

Made som progress, first round of primer is on and after some touch up it looks ok. Also trying out the model master acrylics through my Aztek gun and it seems to work if I make it thin, almost as water. might be a sink mark there.. have already been over it with putty but hey my eye must have missed it.
