2024 Cannonball Run "Resto-mod" Official Finished Builds
Mattilacken replied to White Rabbit's topic in Community Builds
#25 1984 Porsche 911 Turbo This is a Fujimi curbside kit modified with a Black Box resin engine with a custom made turbo setup for this build to give that extra power to beat the clock! The floor pan was modifyed to look more like the oem with parts from a spare Tamiya GT2 kit that I had, the GT2 also donated the transmission to give better MPG and better RPM's on that long cross country drive. "18 3d printed wheels, tires with wide ruber to get that power down. The brakes where also upgraded for modern porsche stuff. Interior is basic but with Tamiya buckets, arm rests(which the curbside lacs) from a Tamiya BMW. I also flocked the floor and back seat to resemble the 1:1 better. Paint is Tamiya LP Red with TS13 clear. Plates are swedish custom ones with my friends birth year, this was his 40year birthday gift and i got it to the finnishline the day before! Thanks Joe! there are things to improve but for a quick build of a new type of car i am ok with the result ? This is Revell 1/24 scale. -
True that! And we did the best we could! yes it is I have some other things I can take photo of the other day. okay that sounds super cool! made some progress I mocked up and cleaned the surcfaces of the super structure. And I must say parts fit like a dream on this one! And the details out of the box is really good! Just look at the smoke stack and Al the nice PE. above the midship can be seen with the halves of the smokestack joined together. Bellow after joining the half’s and installing the two top parts. some PÉ details to be added.

Cool man! These ships are way cool and the history is realy interesting! Here is a pic of my build rougly 22 years ago (2002). A bit rough to say the least, this was before i spraypainted. Fun fact... the sign in german behind the carrier is something my dad found way back on one of the german Destroyers found in the fjords around Narvik.

Citroen Xsara WRC 2001 - Airfix
Mattilacken replied to Technics's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
@Technics I am as local as Internet goes I live in Gällivare 1200km North of Stockholm but did a visit to MJ not long ago. Ulf is local if i remember correct. The new paint is the Cobra line. Cobra BIL färg - AMMO-MIG - Färg och Lim - MJ Hobby Experten AB, Stockholm -
So this will be my first non car/tank build since I was a kid. This is the fairly new Trumpeter kit in 1/350 scale and it has more than 1900 pieces and then I have added some with some extra PE and people. The kit already include quite a lot of PE so I did not buy an extra full set. It have had this on my want to build list for ages since Tirpitz have a personal connection. We have my parents cabin in Norway outside of Narvik where Tirpitz was stationed under couple of occasions. And when it was “sunk”, actually rotated with the hull up buy bombs, it was outside of Tromsø which is close to where my fathers family live. And my dad did actually dive on the remainings of Tirpitz back in the 70’s or 80’s. Anny way, I have joined the hull together and smothened some joints and added the deck and minor parts. And after that I started to install doors and window hatches. More when it happens.

Nice build! That era of Rally is my favorite, guess since I was watching those when growing up. MJ hobby carry the new Ammo paint aimed at us car model makers if you want to try an other paint. -
Epic build! Al those details are insane! I understand why it took the time it took! Great Work!

Uppdatera: JUN Supra tribute build
Mattilacken replied to Mattilacken's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Thanks mark for those kind words! I appreciate it! Thank you sir! Same here, it’s my favorite Japanese car of al time. The livery was DIY and my first attempt on printing my own decals, which most are. It’s the classic Calsonic kit that I bought second hand and some what started. The idea for the livery is explained better in the original thread I ad it in here in a minute. But it was based on the Akira Supra that Best motoring featured way back and did a monster drift in the end, which got my eyes to open to Japanese cars and drifting. -
That’s some impressive cutting and joining! Great work!

A Team van
Mattilacken replied to avidinha's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Btw, if you would use acrylics such as Ammo mig new line of colors, and an AB you could do it almost anywhere as long as you have a area where it’s not fragile. -

Sucks being a lot of work prepping it. Can’t you use some other chassi then?. And Is’t there any other body available to download?- 32 replies

Detailing progress, seats are taking shape. And so are the plumbing.. you might not want the fuel lines that close to the driveshaft but i thought of that after ?

I have this funny car laying around, its one of the newer Monogram 1/24 With the dodge body. And i bought this one only for its wheels for the Impala. I am not a fan of the tall and narow style funny cars so i am searcing for good references for boddys in 1/24 to build around. I have the Monogram 1/24 70 chevelle that i think would work and was searching and found this.. had to share since it looks so sinister. Could not get the link to work.. and i realize this is a Pro MOD/doorslamer https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fm.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D7ALAMB7ZqX8&psig=AOvVaw2CpBfob8dieVACAd-oPR7K&ust=1731163230489000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CAMQjB1qFwoTCPD5kO_8zIkDFQAAAAAdAAAAABAE

Days of Thunder Sequel Maybe

I cant agree more. I must say if its in line with Ford vs Ferrari i am satisfied! Seems like Cruise has no role in this one so i might gotten that wrong. -
