  1. Test fit the body , rear axle slots are tight and front firewall to frame openings need to be opened up. Open it more than just a close fit as primer and paint will close it up some. I got it close and after painting, I put the body on and it sat crooked to the left..
  2. Looks real good Clayton
  3. Final assembly took extra trimming to fit over rear axle, also open right front mount more to fit over frame rail, but its done..Decals were from Tom Geiger and the folks from NNL East..Thanks again
  4. Chassis is complete, flipped floor pan so bigger opening is in the rear so its not seen, added seat belts and some tire decals added dash decals, added brass mesh to radiator area, body painted and should be ready for decals this afternoon or tomorrow. The body decals I chose came from Tom Geiger and the fine folks of the ''NNL East'' so since this kit came with minimal everything I could not think of a better way to complete this build...
  5. I dont think Ive seen any of these built, I have a few so I gave it a try. No chrome, everything has to be painted and slightly trimmed to fit , colors are red and white and some chrome silver,, two tone red / white on body. Very simple kit.
  6. Very cool, paint and build look great
  7. Send them deals westI may be running low
  8. Great stuff as always Mark
  9. Started late last year and got it done today. Only add-ons were front visor because I did not like the 1/16th air gap from the roof to top of glass, and most of the decals are after market.Paint was Tamiya Navy blue and Testors white. Roof exterior done in black than 2 shades of brown / tan washes..
  10. This is the last build update....next it will be in the done post. I found some NYPD decals , I think they maybe Chimneyville, decals, so I chose to use them instead of kit decals, although I did use a few from the kit.
  11. Great 2 kit trade with AFX [ J C Reckner ] , I like when things go smooth..thanks J C
  12. I use the fingernails to extend fenders and over front lights , like this in progress build of Revell 1/12th chopper from a few years ago or the fender tops of this Revell 49 Mercury Model builders can find a way to re purpose just about anything...like small scale recycling..
  13. The chassis and interior are done Cut steering down 3/8 because it was way to tall..
  14. I am gonna do the ''Sand Shark'' Tom......soon
  15. I did alot of kit trading in 2015 and a bunch were showrods..so time to do a few. The paint will be close to color the kit is molded in, but its Tamiya AS-8 Navy blue. Baby blue fuzzy fur and light blue accents in the interior and pleated area is done in tan with a few darker washes. Bench seats painted to look kind of like wood benches. Exterior will be lower half in navy blue and upper in white, using kit decals.
  16. Perfect trades again with Vince Nelson (vintage dragcrazy) and Kevin Little (bismarck)
  17. It really does exist, what a little divers area...nice build, lots of chrome..

  21. With a change in my work duties I was able to build more in 7 months than the last 7 years.,plus 2 incompleted ones.. 1st build 2nd build 3rd build 4th build 5th build 6th was a re-store a builder 7th was todays
  22. This Lindberg '29 is being built right from the box, only thing besides painting the kit is I removed every seam and ejector mark except a few on the chrome windshield frame The tires and rear tank are 2pc so they were glued and split seam removed. On the tires the slicks are the same size as the ''Competition and Custom ''slick set, and parts box front tires can be used but I chose kit parts only. The rear tank is huge and should be cut down, looks like a 50 gallon tank.Only painting left are wheels [ RED ] add whitewall to tires and seat. Chrome thumbtacks would work well and look nice on this kit but kit parts only Paint is all semi-glosses or flats, some parts had chrome removed and painted [headers] I chose to build this just to do something that didnt need . putty,, chopping,, sawing ,,.other kits,, resin and a book of new curse words..
  23. 3 kit trade deal with Kevin Little [ bismarck ] a perfect trade just happens..
  24. Had a perfect trade with 426-hemi...[ John Patton ] good to trade with anytime....
