  1. I spotted this outside a local church last summer.....
  2. Although I'm a Mopar guy, that Black `66 396 Biscayne is flat-out awesome. Please tell me it was a 4 spd. w/ a beach seat! Is the last car a Catherham? Looks like a fun ride....
  3. The Long Island Mopars club got together this morning and had a cruise out to Town & Country Chrysler in Levittown. Amy & myself indulged in a mid-day cruise & show. With everything we're doing in the house, it almost felt good to burn the day and enjoy ourselves instead of hammering or sawing. And not to mention we got a chance to break-out the Barracuda for a blast. Here's a few note worthy cars in attendance. 1971 Hemi Cuda 4-spd. convertible. Real-deal, no B.S. Aside from being a Superbird, this rare one is Petty Blue, 440-6Bbl. 4 speed w/ Dana Go ahead.... drool. How about an automatic burnt-orange `70 Hemi Challenger? Here's my friend Mike's 440-4Bbl. automatic Superbird And I'll throw in a shot of my car with the new Centerlines and Mickey Thompson E-T's Kinda gives it the Super Stock look. The ride home was more relaxing than 2 glasses of scotch. It felt nice......
  4. Absolutely %$#@-ing awesome..... Incredible build!!!!!
  5. I'll join the 4 cylinder fun. Here we have a Merc-Benz A class in the background, the Fiat 500 in the middle, and a slammed Subaru 360 in the foreground. Also allow me to be the first post for the upcoming 1 cylinder car thread....
  6. The sooner you realize she's not going home in the morning, the sooner you'll adjust. All kidding aside, congratulations Darin. I'm going on 9 years and it's all been pretty good. And I waited until I was 45 to tie the knot! I wish you the best!
  7. I built that rail, truck, & trailer way back when the Chevy was a new kit. Mid 90's? Again, it came together as a "quickie" project. Thanks for the compliments guys!
  8. Funny you mention that.... The side of the block where the starter would mount is empty w/ a hole in the face of the bellhousing. There's also 3 starter bolt holes drilled. Good catch on the missing push bar! I also have to find the missing seat insert.
  9. That's one slick build Jim. The colors, the detailing, the stance, everything is awesome. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Although I'm not a big fan of Mopar's Hi-Impact greens, it works here. It also opens new doors for an ancient kit. T/A version anyone?
  11. Beautiful job Rommel. The tips and suggestions your sharing are priceless. Thank you. <No emoticons were used to annoy anyone....>
  12. Just curious: What's with up emoticon's? Are they socially frowned upon here? Do people use them to the point of being annoying? Did you have an unpleasant emoticon experience as a child? Just wondering..... and kidding
  13. Thanks for the kind words. That dragster was a spur-of-the-moment build! At one time I had a large stash of parts packs ( don't ask.... they're almost all gone) and I wanted a vintage rail. Small block Chevy's are boring and a 392 Hemi predictable. I had read a kit review in one of the magazines saying how nice the Flathead was in the then new `50 Ford pick-up kit. So I robbed the engine from that kit and did about 20 minutes research. I mostly built it from vibe..... If I did it today I guess I'd need a Rat Rod tow vehicle... Looking forward to getting back into it. I have a million ideas.....
  14. Those vintage pie crusts look fantastic! And the M&H's aren't too shabby either. I'm pre-ordering several sets now. Thanks for the heads-up! And while we're wishing for new tire tooling's.... Put your hands together Brothers & Sister's and PRAY someone does these. I mean, only every muscle machine out there ( or so it seems...) are running these!
  15. Ken Block is my hero. Nascar is boring.... Drag racing just reaction...... Formula one is too proper. Now Rally drivers, they need a wheel barrow to haul around certain sections of their anatomy because they're HUGE and made of steel. Watching Ken parallel-park at 90 MPH is amazing.....
  16. This thread keeps getting better & betterer.... Superlatives fail me.....
  17. 10-15 yrs. ago I was deeply immersed in the hobby. Then life hits.....and everything grins to a halt. Between family issues, meeting & marrying my wife Amy, and finally finishing the restoration of my Barracuda. Right now I'm 3/4 of the way through getting the household projects we planned done. More than likely I'll get to the hobby room next. Amy has already promised to kick my a** if I don't.... Here's a few more from my past Chopped AMT `64 Imperial slammer w/ billet wheels High-tech AMT `59 Buick Lead Sled I'll finish up with another Drag vehicle....Scratch-built brass frame with a fully detailed Hemi. This was called "Overkill" Thanks for the compliments gang! Looking forward to getting back in the groove!
  18. Here's an older build of mine. It's a Revell parts pack frame with the engine from Monograms `50 pick up. The blower is from the old AMT `57 Chevy w/ scoop from the Tony Nancy rail. The rear tires are also parts pack item. The front axle was made from aluminum w/ operating steering. When you race, you need a tow vehicle. Paint is Boyds and the wide whites came from the Revell `59 Impala and the chrome reversed from the parts drawer. The bed is carrying a few things you might need and the trailer was scratch-built from Plasti-struct. I wish there were 34 hours in a day and I worked a 4 day week. Maybe THEN I'll get my hobby room together and I can start again. My next few weekends will be spent building a deck and dog house plus fencing in his kennel/run. Then we paint the garage and organize that. Maybe by the Fall I'll get indoors and clean out that room.....
  19. That's disturbing on many levels, which is why I love it.... Howzabout stuffing the Merc-McLaren engine in an old Johan Chrysler 300 kit?
  20. Are those dog dish hub caps from the kit or aftermarket? If they are from the kit, which is it? I need a set of `68 Plymouth dog dish caps for a project.
