I've been considering building a new house. What do you people think about my rough floor plans? And here's a temporary arrangement & layout (Wife cage optional....)
-
A Hemi with drum brakes? I admire your bravado! Sweet car. How many do you have? I regret not swapping out to the big bolt pattern on the wheels. I love those Weld Pro Stars on Fastbacks. Sharp car you have there. If I was doing mine over, I would have went with the 6.1 Hemi/Tremec 6 spd. swap. If my wife see's me typing about replacing the engine she'll kill me......

your work bench
FASTBACK340 replied to dabelltoller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sure, I'll play along. Here's my pre-clean up workbench. Hopefully after tomorrow I'll have it somewhat organized and functioning again. Just a little Barracuda memorabilia on the walls.... -
Looks like you got a plan there, looks good! Interested in seeing how you do the bench seat. But a Dana rear end?

I'm so sorry to hear this....

Harry's reply was interpreted by me as "Go Google it yourself!" I now know what's "twerking".

What irked me today? Snow. Not a monster storm.... just about an inch. Just enough to turn off everyones brain when driving. My 20.3 mile drive home from work was about 100 miles worth of aggravation. <Rant-Off>

Unfortunately no updates. I'm a couch-potato tonight as I'm staying close to my Wife as she had some minor surgery yesterday and she's a bit sore. Tomorrow I plan on spending the day re-organizing the room as I need to set up my spray booth and throw out garbage. I also need to make some shelves too. Then we drop the clutch and shift at the chip.... Man, everything I touch turns into a #$%@^&^% project !

I've had good luck with Ambroid Pro Weld. But be careful, it's some harsh stuff. And as for the build, whats your plan? Color combo, stock or? I have to wait until X-mas for mine.....
-
Nice Chevelle! Love those Colonade bodied GM's! Stock eliminator? What's she running? I haven't had the pleasure with mine yet.

Mine is just a small block stick, you win. When you click "quote" scroll down to the reply box. It should be there. As for posting pictures, click on "reply more options" in the lower right of the screen and it will allow you to upload directly from your computer, provided that the file isn't too big. Click on ATTACH FILES and follow the prompts as you choose, upload, and post to reply. Looking forward to seeing some cool car-porn.

project pro street 4.25.15 brass time!
FASTBACK340 replied to streetmachine11's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Beautiful car and good luck with "getting it right". In another thread I'm starting a promo-style build of my car too. I'm holding off on the full detail build for another time as I'm bugged about "getting it right" too. -

As I'm reading Rob's post I'm thinking of Tim Boyd doing a comparison, and I see he posts next! -
This is why I don't have a stereo in the car. IMG_3155.MOV Show us yours now!

DUDE!!!! The car in your avatar, is that yours? If so, details and MANY MORE PICTURES. PLEASE!
-
I'll join in with a polite poke too..... That Ghia project of your's sure is coming along nicely!

As much as I'd like to tear into a full-detail build, I need the practice to be honest. A quick shelf build will get me back into the air brush and finishing skills. Remember, I've only built a few simple projects after am almost 10 hiatus! I have about a half dozen `68 annuals so I have material to work with. I just don't want to screw it up. The Hemi under Glass reference is that the body is cast w/o an opening hood and no vent windows. Yes, the original was rear-engined and they ranged from `65 on up to `69, although I have seen a Hot Rod centerfold with a `70 `Cuda wheelstander that just reads "Hemi under Glass" without the Hurst sponsorship on the doors. And as for the real one, I have some photos in my gallery and a very short video of her at idle in my driveway. But here's 2 shots now:

I'll second that. I've been in the car-repair biz for 30 yrs. Having ice-cold slush running down the back of your neck while under a lift first thing in the morning is special ..... Good luck on the relocation upgrade!
-
I forgot to mention all the chrome & lenses are on their way (I hope....) from Modelhaus, I have a bombed-out `67 annual built-up I can pirate the interior tub and chassis from. I also have a few sets of Keith Marks `68 Barracuda graphics. The Formula-S emblems are to die for.....

3D printing growing as we speak
FASTBACK340 replied to bbowser's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Speaking of 3D printing gathering steam....... http://www.lostateminor.com/2013/05/30/dita-von-teese-makes-3d-printed-fashion-sexy/ http://www.designboom.com/design/3d-printed-lingerie-at-the-victorias-secret-fashion-show-12-11-2013/ I'd say it's getting, umm...."legs". And more than metaphorically! BTW: Both of these stories were on the local news here in NYC.... -
Thank you for posting your advanced-release build! Looks like a winner to me too. And yes, a flat head...straight six's.....anything goes!
