I've decided to do a quick shelf-model build of my Barracuda. This way I have something to display with my car when appropriate and later I can crack open an old annual and do a full-boogie number on it. I need to get back in the saddle with a few quick-builds to get the interest going. That Woody last winter became a project that got rushed for NNL East. Not this year. No rush jobs..... Here's a resin re-pop of the Hemi under Glass (I had thought it was a promo at first) as it doesn't have vent windows! This will be the first modification. I've already deepened the panel lines and added the missing seams for the fenders and cowl. Yeah.... no engine on this one. That will come at another time with the eventual full detail build. Got my L1 Turquoise from MCW, my Drag Radials from Joseph (They look great BTW!) and I have a set of billet dog dish hub caps somewhere. Now to clean the room.......

I have an Optima dry cell, although I do throw a trickle charge on it if I plan on warming it up on a nice winter day. And yes, my timing was perfect. It started snowing a few hours after I closed the garage door. It sure was nice to go for a final blast!

Fotki's back! (Sort of...)

Don't know if this has been discussed, but I was pleasantly surprised to see ALL my photos back on-line in my Fotki album! Apparently the move to Estonia was successful..... I have over 1,100 photographs of the Barracuda undergoing its restoration. At one point I had about only 40 photos in that album! -
The bounce sheets works for me, although I don't have a big issue with mice. The rats eat them....

I agree, it's nice to see a build being posted. While i'm not a big fan of certain high impact colors, your build is certainly stunning! Great contrast and clean building. -
Filled the tank, added stabilizer, put on the winter storage tires, cleaned her, and slid on the cover. A few Bounce dryer sheets in the interior and engine compartment to keep the mice out, and she sleeps now. G`nite my sweet Mistress...... Now it's time to clean off the model bench.

I still say this kit is a conflicting mess of parts/years..... It's a `68 version in a market somewhere? OK, good `nuff.
-
Beautiful job John! Always loved the graphics on her car. <sigh....> I just wish that kit was actually a `68, not a `69 w/ round side marker lights. Too bad as they never did the `69 as a "factory" Hemi car....

Trailer looks good! Still waiting for my goodies.....

Make sure the drive belt isn't being over-adjusted wiping out the pump bearing/seal prematurely......

I was thinking exactly the same thing. It appears after reading it through it might be easier to try and do it than explain it. Very cool tip, thanks for posting it for us all to enjoy. -
Especially in well-to-do neighborhoods on re-cycle night! If I can re-purpose something, I have no problems re-purposing. Within reason.....

This is indeed an East Coast car (Long Island to be exact) and I'll probably see it Sunday at the Long Island Mopars final get-together of the season. All you local guys, Hooters on Rt: 110 in Farmingdale 11-3. Plenty of E-Body reference will be there, hopefully including this `Cuda. I'll see if it is a factory coded red stripe or not...... Same goes for any other color combo I spot. I'll try and get some info.....

I got my bench grinder stand like that. I found it brand new out at the curb on recycle night. Never scored models though..... Good for you. Either try something new or barter for what you can use.

Same well wishes from my family to everyone else's. Hopefully everyone is enjoying it with family & friends. My family has been invited to a close friends house whom is hosting another friend & his family. Three small get together's has grown into a house full of people for one huge dinner. Everyone is bringing something, so it should be interesting as my family has predominate Italian roots, the host family is Hispanic and the other invited family is Asian. Dinner should be off the hook!

I agree 100%, Brian was awesome. I have a feeling Peter will clone him or something......

This is a variation never imported into the states.... Never seen or heard of a 1200 A with a 1200 ccm (?) engine or 6 volt in 68. What is this? A Swiss market car only?

Yeah...Yeah...Yeah... Arizona, the "rust-belt"! I have a 1999 Maxima and just recently the r/r wheel well lip is showing a few bubbles towards the back. That's NYC since new, stored outdoors most of it's life. Granted, it only has 125K, but I'm optimistic it has another 100K plus left in her. But here's the truth: I've worked for Nissan proper the last 20+ years, almost entirely with Infiniti. And I'll say this: after seeing the Cube, Juke, the space-ship techno-sled Q-50 (which is starting out as a glitch-ridden nightmare) and now the re-orginaztion (and confusion....) of re-naming the ENTIRE Infiniti line-up, I doubt Nissan has a clue as to what it's doing. A retro 510 would be cute, if they followed Toyota/Scion and made an affordable front engine/ rear drive coupe. More than likely, it will have a 4 cylinder with that annoying CVT transmission..... We can only hope. -
When are we going to stop calling it "evilbay" ?

Right now I'm searching for an original steering wheel w/ horn ring & button for my Barracuda. I have a smaller diameter custom wheel and with manual steering it's becoming a PIA to park. Complete original wheels are stupid expensive, but on occasion one get's mis-listed and slips through cheap. That's the one I'm waiting for. I don't need it until spring. Unless someone on here has one they'd like to sell?
