  1. That’s looking really good. I love the design …. It is going to be a clean sharp truck, keep going. Excited to see the continued build ….
  2. Thanks Brian, the pics always look WAY better on my phone than on the computer…. There is more weathering to do to bring it all together. The frame is just barely started. All I have done so far is added a little light rust wash…. I am going to try and filter the frame by adding green pigments mixed with just a touch of white to lighten it up a bit to replicate use, then the oil and mud ….. or just dirt … the fuel tank tags are p/e that came with the CTM Hayes up grade set. Still a mountain more to do…. Ron and I were neck and neck on our builds but he seemed to have passed me in turn 3 and put me 2 laps down as he is over the finish line already. And it looks like I need fuel and tires ….. As long as I don’t tale a pass thru penalty …..
  3. Another small update, more to let you guys know I am still puttering away at this. Finished up installing the fuel lines and shift linkage…..and then I did some decaling. Normally or rather in the past I had always done decaling last and had fallen into that tradition ( read habit ) when I was a kid building models and never stepped out of that habit until now …. Anyway As an idea to make a demarkation line between the green and white , I thought of using the decal stripes from the re-issue Freightliner cab over. The decals have just been put on in the last few hours and are still curing , I was hopeful that the decals would cover any boogers from any sloppy masking. Over all I am quite pleased with the overall result. Also a little paint came off the rad cover and I was going to touch it up , but got to thinking and maybe might leave it as that is what a work truck may have along with the little bit of broken stripe I cud fix, but may not ….. and as a mast little detail to mention, I opened the drivers window and rolled down the passenger side about half way …… still lots to do but getting close to the last lap ….
  4. The final result is really good, Ron, and a super good save on the paint.... I also like the attention to the details on the front rims, somehow I missed those... perfect period correct ! She's lookin good !
  5. Short term pain LONG term gain
  6. Throw a 16 foot Nahanni gravel box on that unit and I’ll be hauling in the morning ! What a smart looking truck ….
  7. JM…. Your post is exactly what I was referring to when I was saying about the engineering and design stuff you are doing …. I wish I had those skills , really cool stuff and like Gary’s resto mod, the sky is the limit for you too. I LOVE your tanker, it has potential for all sorts of modifications… I’m enjoying watching this come together, keep on it pal.
  8. It was my pleasure, I’m very glad it worked in your favour. Looking forward to the next update ….
  9. That glass did come out nice in the end, looks real clean. The stacks look just fine. And again that color combo is really period correct. Looks great , Lee. Your efforts are well worth it ! Jeff
  10. Steve, this one is a beauty! Something easily seen on our highways in the days past. Nice clean short frame which is very functional in the real world. Nice tight build and excellent color combo. A lot of work went into this build and all subtle changes that really make this kit pop! Really nice job , Mate Love the pic of the Nova ! If you get nostalgic you could always open a kit and model on the Novs dash until you get a room again????????? Best wishes and good luck getting a new flat. Keep us posted …. cheers matey Jeff
  11. Looks reasonable to me.....
  12. I was too, Steve................. about 7 pages ago !
  13. Genius ! I never would have thought of that !
  14. You got the colors spot on ! looks great, Bud.. Jeff
  15. I LOVE that pickup !
  16. The difference between 1/24 and 1/25 in this case I would think would be minimal and there would be few if any issues , that’s my 7 cents worth ( 2 cents Canadian plus exchange )!! ??
  17. I have been watching this build for a long time ….. the details and accuracy and scratch skills are out of this world …. Perfect cuts precision measuring and dead accurate is phenomenal…. I great pleasure to watch in amazement come together. Fantastic. … Jeff
  18. As a ‘resto mod’ …. And I agree with Hakan , personally as I have watched many of the car shows on tv ( too many says Cathy ) it seems to me to be a mix and match thing those guys do, and if, in real life a guy was to do a resto mod, I would think it would start out in the shop as two frame rails on stands waiting for what comes along to be bolted on …. Just a random thought as a ‘ resto mod’ is a blank canvas…. Open to all sorts of radical moves…. Might have to beef up the frame a bit for a double turbo V12 tho ….??
  19. JM…….. I read your posts saying that the guys detail and do things that you find amazing……. Buddy, don’t sell yourself short, your builds have a LOT going on , far more than anything I do or can do….. first off, once you have a vision, you usually start from scratch! THEN you spend hours designing on the computer….. then print what you need from scratch THEN assemble your creation! Your design work, computer skills and modelling skills are to be well and truly to be well admired , my friend…. You are right up there as one to really watch and follow with great ideas and execution .
  20. Paul at STSupply has a Neway setup, not sure if it is in stock at the moment or not ….. sky is the limit on this idea, Gary. Jeff
  21. GREAT save , Ron!! Looks good from where I’m sitting. Nice job !
