My apologies for posting it. I didn’t realize this thread was for only real cars. Just thought you guys would be interested in seeing it. -

Well , I have NO idea. I’m NOT a Porsche guy Corvettes are my thing, but listening to the owner he said it was a 57 and no mention of a kit or anything else, but hey, I may be wrong. Just thought it fit the thread of what I saw on the road today. -

No name stuff from Canadian Tire. Nothing special. It seems to buff up a bit if I rub it with a wooden dowel. I burnishes quite well considering it is fairly thick -

Thanks , Steve. I didn’t think I could cut the metal ones cleanly with out making a hash of it. And in real life it looks pretty good over all -

Little update …. I’m going with aftermarket exhaust, specifically the Auslowe kit EX3. The kit is beautiful and I have used them 3 or 4 times and they really make the build. On this build I didn’t care for the pipe itself as it was a bit long and to cut it on an angle would have been a challenge for me. I had some styrene tube the exact right size, and with my new razor saw and my old mitre box cut some pipes a little shorter…. covered them with the automotive ‘chrome’ tape and a small splash of paint on the inside and I have a couple clean pipes that in real life look pretty good. I am pleased with the final results. Not perfect but will work well for my application. -
AMT Autocar DC9965B Truck 1972 rebuild
Biggu replied to Pete68's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This is gonna be really cool. I love rebuilds. The same but different. I am in the front row here …… Jeff -
NICE save on the front axle , JM ! A thing like that can be a mojo killer and a real test of patience. Glad it came apart cleanly and you were able to render a good solid repair … this is coming together nicely. Keep going Jeff

How did I miss this ??? Very cool build. The extras on the engine look great and have given me a couple ideas for my next Cummins build. I LOVE the paint job ! Perfect colors. I will be taking notes on this one for sure… Jeff -
Incredible !!

How COOL is THAT!!! Used to see Triline trucks locally a lot back in the day. They were really cool looking and you knew what it was in a blink of an eye, but we don’t see them at all any more. Sadly. I miss seeing them. I plan to do a Freightliner cab over in the old colors.

Neat idea. I never would have thought of that. And the weathering is really sweet ! Nice job ! -
I agree, it is one of AMT’s real good ones with not a lot of fit issues and builds up into a real nice dump truck. Nice job on this one. Really good job on the dump box. This turned out really sweet. Those heavy steel heated Montone boxes are cool, I have often wondered how heavy they were empty …. I bet they were heavy. Great looking truck Jeff
