Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 V-Spec in "Midnight Purple" (Tamiya)
TransAmMike replied to Tommy124's topic in Model Cars
Perfect looking build Tommy, hard to tell in the picture that it's not a real car. ? -
Thankk you Brian, and me too?
-
Thanks my Friend, You know the issues I had but thats history now, thank goodness?
-
Thank you so much Richard. It certainly did exceed my expectation.

I finally got it done. I started working on this in April and after more issues than I would have liked just completed it yesterday. It's the AMT Coca-Cola issue. I started out cutting off the hood so as to not make it with the flip front. Since I couldn't get the hood to fit right after cutting it off I decided to just glue the hood back on using small plastic round to fill the gap between the fenders and the hood and do it as a curb-side. I managed to destroy the first paint job fighting with getting the body on the chassis and had to strip it and repaint. The red paint is Createx Opaque red, the black is Anita's Metallic Black over Stynylrez gray primer. The hood scoop is the bottom part of the 2 part scoop from the '67 Chevelle kit with the open top filled in. The M&H slicks are from my stash (don't really know what kit has those) and the rear centerlines were provided me by forum member "70 Grande", thanks Mark. Front wheels and tires are the kit ones. Hope I don't bore you Guys' with all the pics. Thanks for checking it out!!

Glad to see you're back on this buid Sonny. About the stance, I have 2 vintage pics of 2 of my Dads' unmodified '57 Bel Air 2-door hardtops and the stance on both is level. -
Yeah buddy, I can believe that. My wife calls them a "cute" car. ?
-
Well thats good. It was a shame about the floorpan on the one I had because the body and interior were perfect.
-
Wow, looks just like the one I had. The floor pan rusted out badly so and I finally decided it was no longer drivable and sold it.
-
Hi there Mario, I do appreciate the compliments.
-
Hey there "Neighbor". Thank you Carl.
-

The origin of mine is pretty obvious by my avatar. Mikes the name, TransAms my game?. 2002 WS6/6 speed.

Really good looking Duster. I have painted a couple of models in the Createx opaque red. The more coats you put the redder it gets.
-
Hey there Wiz!! What condition is your 914 in??
-
Thanks Jerry. The kit wheels are OK but it definately need deep and wide on the rear. Hey Chaz, nice to hear from ya. Thanks for the compliment!! Thanks for the compliment David, always appreciated!! Thank you James. As a former owner of a real one I love to do them.
-
Thanks Carl. Yeah, I had the '57 and a Willys Pickup going at the same time. Glad to get the '57 done and had to do a repaint on the Willys. Should get the Willys done today or tomorrow then full go on the 914.
-
Do you remember what trouble tyou had with it? I haven't done any more than what I did with the Sail Panel.
-
Yeah James, same here, no hobby shops.
-
Well John, I missed this until now. Love the look, especially the color scheme.
-
Thanks James.
