  1. Thats a great looking Buick Steve. Perfect color choice too.
  2. Biggest issue with the decals, aside from being sure the stripes are straight, is the darn curves on the hood scoop and the the depressions and curves in the front and rear valences where the license plates go. Covering them up with the plates hides it tho.
  3. Thanks Josh, and the second application of decals didn't go on without a hitch either but at least I got them on straight (mostly)??
  4. And thanks again to all who replied, I really appreciate it. It was a bit of a struggle, especially having to remove the crooked decals and then repaint. Ya'll have a good day?
  5. Don't know about Family Hobby but I'm pretty sure I went th Hudson....small cluttered place in strip mall, wasn't impressed.
  6. Thanks for the kuddos folks. I'm just glad its finally done
  7. Looking good so far Terry, interesting build to say the least??
  8. Looks good so far Keith?
  9. I'm with you on this statement Hakan. But I'm up in years and was a member of the entire muscle-car era, and still love 'em. I have literally thousands of magazines and when looking at the internet I can usually spot glaring in-accuracies in most cars (note I said most, not all). But with that being said, younger people may not have been around cars enough to tell. So, the internet is probably the only resource some have at their disposal. Best to look at multiple examples of a certain cars. I also find that suposed restorations of cars vary also.
  10. Very nice job Zack?
  11. Well after several nightmares (as in "screw-ups") she's finally done.....thank goodness!! Thanks to those of you who offered some advise and especially Chaz( FLHCAHZ) for providing me with replacement decals after I messed the originals up. So here it is, not perfection, but I like it!! Sorry for different size pics, my resizing is still a WIP. Thanks so much for looking?
  12. Outstanding work Scott??
  13. That is awesome John!!!! I'm quite sure you built the exhaust system as the real cars', but that it's some odd looking !!
  14. A couple of those cars run in the 8's, pretty darn impressive for VW or Porsche engined cars. As for the 1/4 mile, just doesn't look that far in the videos but I guess judging by the top speeds it would have to be.
  15. This is coming along nicely Les!! What a beast that real car is (the one in the still before the video), but in watching the video it isn't the best runner. A lot of cool VW's. My question (for us American guys's) is the distance in kilometers and as well, is the top speed posted in kilometers/hr??
  16. Watching with much interest. I have this kit to replicate the actual car I once owned. Mine was black, red velour interior. What a great fun car it was!!
  17. Thanks, just a rough test build. Drill holes in each end for inlet and outlets.
  18. I couldn't wait to try to make one, used 3 small pieces of evergreen rod, layed flat and glues together with liquid cement. Then cut same length thin sheet long enough to wrap around it. Glued rectangle piece of same thin sheet on each end then trimmed them with sharp scissors. Smoothed the ends to the oval contour and here is what it looks like. It's just shy of 1 inch long x 1/4 wide x 1/8 thick.
  19. I know nothing about how to do that Mark.
  20. Yep, your solution is what came to mind to me. I was thinking gluing 3 round Evergreen or tubing side by side, then wrap it with sheet styrene. Could leave the 2 outside pieces a little longer for the inlet and outlet. Gonna give it a try. Cap off the ends with sheet.
  21. I ran down that strip many times in my stock '57 Chevy Bel Air and later my '66 SS Chevelle (D/Stock) and helped with my friends cars. Great fun back in the day. I never went to Houma but did occasionally go to Gulfport, MS.
  22. That looks great David. I'm also from south Louisiana and lived in Metairie several years. Were you around in the LaPlace Raceway era??
  23. Very cool, especially with the non-custom wheel hubcaps.?
  24. Thats a cool looking car Keith! Nicly done?
