  1. Thanks, Chris.
  2. Beautiful collection.
  3. Thanks, Monty. Yes, it's a very well made kit. The radiator support is definitely an issue. I checked to see if the chassis was in the right place, the body sitting right, everything was in the right location and I could not get that grill and bumper to sit right. Another issue is, though very small, the body tub wont reach the locating pins under the parcel shelf without some squeezing and pushing. No suspension mods, just the change of wheels. It could easily be modified just by adding taller springs or cutting them down.
  4. Thanks, guys. I'm looking forward to building the 66 model, see how it compares.
  5. Yes, I can see it now. If the grill/bumper go's up any further it'll be too close to those side lights. Great work anyway, I'm watching this one with interest.
  6. Yeah, I've met Trigger, very nice guy. That estate was a great find, car is like new. Marinas were the car of choice with my family back in the 80's. My dad had two of them for the most part of the 80's and my grand dad had the van versions. He worked at a carpet store and that's all he ever drove. He'd have a different Marina van every couple of years. When they started getting harder to find he starting driving Maestro vans but always used to say how much he disliked them compared to the Marina.
  7. Got it off of eBay. I was going to put the item number here for you but looks like the last one sold, he had four available yesterday.
  8. There not a bad car. Sold as the Austin Marina in the states. Mechanical parts are easy as it's mostly parts bin stuff from the Mini, MG etc. Panels and trim can be hard to get but I have a huge stash of parts to keep these going for years.
  9. 1971 Morris Marina, my daily driver for five years. We have three of them, the white one is my girlfriends and I'm currently restoring another. They're not the most popular classics and are the butt of all jokes, think of the Pinto as the US equivalent.

    64 GTO

Looks good. yes, good job on the carb linkages, very nicely detailed.
  11. Can the grill and bumper be brought up any more? Not criticising, it's just the front looks very boxy on this car.
  12. Got this today, the Supernatural Impala. I've been meaning to get this one for a while now. I may do another Yellow cab with this or maybe a highway patrol.
  13. Moth is a bit out of scale. Good thing they're not really that size!
  14. Thanks, guys. Here's a couple more engine shots. My camera is useless though!
  15. You knocked this out of the park, nice one! Revell should use this as the box art!
  16. Great stuff. I did this once and it got very confusing. You'd be surprised what parts fit a particular model that aren't supposed to! xD
  17. Just finished the 1967 Olds 442 by Lindberg. This kit was loads of fun to build and pretty much fell together. The only issue I had building this was the radiator support pushes the grill out and down, leaving a huge gap all around. I tried everything to make it fit, I cut it, I shaved it and even cut huge pieces out but no matter how much I cut out it would not allow the grill and bumper to sit in the fitting all the way. Leaving it out completely was the only way I could get the grill and bumper to fit without huge panel gaps all the way around. I found the wheels that come with the kit, or rather the tyres, look a bit too small, so I changed it up a bit with steels and dog dish caps. The tyres are off the Lindberg 1961 Impala, steels from the AMT 1962 Buick Electra and the caps from the AMT 1970 Galaxie 500 police car, I only had one so had to make another three from resin. Body paint is a Ford colour, Diamond White and interior is a Rover colour, Damask Red. The hood and vent panel is just basic satin black. Enough babbling from me, here's some pictures:)
  18. There we have it, finished up this morning. A real pleasure to build this kit, other than the radiator support, it wen't together very well. I'll put pictures in the completed models section of the forum.
  19. On final assembly last night, I found the radiator support badly interferes with the front grill and bumper. It stops the bumper from sitting nicely to the front wing cut outs. Because it wouldn't sit flush, it also left a sizeable gap between the top of the grill and the leading edge of the hood. I tried shaving, I tried cutting, and even cutting bits out completely to make it smaller, nothing other than removing it would allow the grill and bumper assembly to fit right. Whoever designed this kit really got the tolerances badly wrong on this part. Anyway, it doesn't look too bad without it, I'll post pictures in completed model thread.
  20. Tried doing some chrome foiling last night and again was a total disaster. I just can't seem to work with it no mater how hard I try. It wrinkles, it lays down where I don't want it to, and because I end up messing with it for too long it gets dull and tarnished. So, off it came and out came the Molotow pen.
  21. I like that. I wouldn't have thought of using that colour for a 50's car but it works great. Very good looker!
