  1. Well, I live in South Wales, we have a unique accent, farms and tractors are a more common sight than cars and we have our own way of doing things which confuses the heck out of the English, xD! Yeah, I think I'm hillbilly!
  2. A tool I still have, bought when I was a teen around 1991 to remove the chain link on my BMX, is a small flat ended screwdriver. The shaft is all pitted and the handle smoothed round but still grips a screw when I use it.
  3. Air conditioning, the hillbilly way I'll either rebuild it when I can or I'll keep a look out for another body and just do the hardtop, probably the later.
  4. That's a heck of a good job for brush painting! Did you have to flat it back and polish it?
  5. Super nice. What a transformation! I love the two tone green.
  6. Love the look on this, it's so nice.
  7. Another nice build. Paint is spotless, mirror finish!
  8. Nice build, paint looks great. Looks like a very well restored Beetle you'd see at the shows.
  9. Great weathering, and the colour looks like old lead paint, that type of look you can't get with modern paints anymore.
  10. Nice work, good job on the wheels. My cousin had one of these when he was living in Pennsylvania, it was a very faded blue with surface rust, and really loud!

    GT350

Nice. That's got a proper old school look.
  12. Nice interior colour, go's well with the dark blue. If you hadn't have mentioned it was dark blue I would have thought it was a pearlescent black.
  13. Ha! You didn't destroy a 2+2 by chopping the roof off, xD! Forgot to mention, I like the bed liner touch on the bed. I use that stuff as rust protector under my 1.1 cars. Tough stuff that.
  14. Twenty year build! Worth the wait though. I never liked these cars, they look like two cars from different eras, the back looks like 1970's land yacht and the front a 1980's station wagon.
  15. Nice. I did the 1978 official pace car version, like yours, the hood doesn't fit where it meets the windshield. I think they're all like that.

    Ice T

Very nice. That's actually pretty funky for these oddball kits, I like it.
  17. Nice engine detailing, looks great. That light blue really suits the car too.
  18. Stunning car and beautiful colour choice, very nice!
  19. ok, great stuff, I have chalks here. I'll get the primer coats on tomorrow and I'll post some progress.
  20. Thanks for answering the call, Tom, haha. Yes, that's exactly the look I want, they're green too! I'll have to pick up some black primer tomorrow, didn't think of using different colour primers! Thank you.
  21. I use ZAP 560 canopy glue, works great. It's not a brand I specifically searched for, it just happend to be the first one that popped up in search results when I was looking for something that didn't fog and melt clear plastic. I gave it a shot and does exactly what I needed it for. There's loads of different brands and types out there but if it works for you, just stick to it whatever brand it is.
  22. Looking good. I love the Revell Boss 302 kit. The kit I had was in those newer flat boxes, hate those, but that emblem indent isn't there.
  23. Sounds exactly how the cars here in the UK rust. Window frames leak first and the rest just follows from there. Door bottoms, rocker panels, wheel arches, all very familiar stuff. I picked up some red primer today, i usually use grey. I also picked up a very nice shade of green that was on sale called Highland Green. I've never done weathering before so tips and pointers are more than welcome. I won't be going wild like ripping into wheel arches to simulate rot cos I don't want to risk ruining it, it'll be more a faded patchy repairs early 80's second hand car look. I've seen rock salt being used to simulate chipped paint but not sure how it would take to automotive paints. Anyway, hints and tips are very welcome:)
  24. Thanks, guys.
  25. yes, as you say the roof line is different. The fact I don't have any decals for the right look either that leaves the old faded daily driver! I won't be going wild with the weathering as I've never done it before, but I'm pretty good rubbing paint through to primer, xD! I'm looking forward to this build. Something different for a change to the usual factory fresh look I do.
