  1. Nearing completion now! The underside is finished, glass is in, detailed the inner wings and got the completed engine in the chassis. I also added the spot lights to the car just because they were in the kit and they look pretty cool:) Interior is almost finished, I had paint reaction on the steering wheel. While trying to remove the paint the whole thing turned to mush! I have a replacement stock steering wheel from the Mercury Cyclone which is close so will have to do.
  2. I have heard they were fast rotting car.
  3. You nailed it, looks spot on!
  4. Fantastic work! I have experience in casting resins, so if I have a good part to mould, missing parts aren't an issue. With modern tech these days a lot of stuff that wasn't possible ten years ago can now be done in your own living room.
  5. Sleek looking Jag! I like the raised digit number plate, it looks exactly correct for the time! How did you do that?
  6. Looks good enough to eat, haha! The colour is perfect for this car, turned out really nice. Brown isn't such a bad colour when it shines.
  7. Looking good. I do like that colour, very nice.
  8. All that work certainly paid off! Looks amazing, what a beautiful car!
  9. That's looking really good. Very detailed kit.
  10. Fair amount of work going into this! Love this stuff.
  11. Sounds like the stuff that old suitcase record players were covered in 'Rexine'
  12. Looks great, very nice. The added flames finish it off nicely.
  13. Stunning collection, and a nice bit of history there! I would love to have known about these back then but all the model shops here had closed or relocated even by the late 90's.
  14. Looks great. Nice detailing in the engine bay, looks like a lot going on in there!
  15. Nice, that's very well done. I love the interior colour combo, and the detail is spot on.
  16. I've used other brands of chrome pen, Decocolor is one, and they have turned silver after a few weeks, so if it's happening with Molotow pens I'd be willing to bet it's the contents inside just breaking down and nothing to do with the felt tip. I guess storage is a factor also, temp changes etc.
  17. Good job! I'm not skilled enough to repair a warped casting. Something like that I would have changed the body using the AMT Ford Victoria, or at least most of a newer casting. Some will say it's not the same car then, I get that, but is much better than something that looks like it's been in the oven for an hour.
  18. Yeah, a good condition promo would be hard for me to avoid improving because I like detailing. Part of the charm of promos is most times the interior isn't even painted. I see the '64 Impala quite often, usually convertible and with broken windscreen frame, and I know the interior tub of the 1989 AMT release of that car has the promo tub unchanged, I think the whole kit is a light mod from the promo cos you can see the casting marks and where they changed parts of the chassis for the mainstream release.
  19. Interesting kit, I'm looking forward to seeing this build progress. What is the black vinyl roof material AMT announces on the box?
  20. Yep, my thoughts too. I was thinking of promos because of their low parts count, no glue and they just seem to have a certain charm about them.
  21. Love it! Looks like the cars in 'Fallout 4' ..that's a video game us 40 year old whippersnappers like to play sometimes, Lol!
  22. Ah, that must be the one I'm thinking of then. I knew there was clear hood to do with this movie somewhere.
  23. Are you currently building this model? Would love to see where you go with it. I Googled the 66 El Camino and those wheels are very nice.
