  1. I didn't know it was a download until I clicked on it, thought it was just a link.
  2. That looks good. There's one of them here in South Wales believe it or not, it's blue if I remember. Haven't seen it for years now but was always at the local classic car shows.
  3. Can't see pictures, but I clicked on the link there, and IT'S SLOW!! Had to cancel the download as I'd imagine by the speed it was downloading there are some Big files there!
  4. She's a beast! Looks amazing, very nice paintwork.
  5. Nice. Good colour, I like the white top.
  6. Modifying the wheel backs and the fixing caps now. The original wheel backs are too wide for the new tyres I'm fitting, they hit the back of the wheel centres. I found some spares in my stash, I think they are from the '64 Impala, but they needed modifying to fit the original hub fixings. I drilled the holes out a little wider and cut off the lip on the hub fixing, they fit in the recesses like a glove! Also got a couple of coats of paint on the body. The last picture is a mock up to get an idea of how it will look:)
  7. Very nicely done! Parts box builds are great, always unique. Those rear wheels are HUGE!?
  8. Thanks, guys. I used lacquer on this one cos the paint wouldn't shine for some reason, and this is also my first successful BMF model!
  9. That was a good thread to follow, enjoyed the story as you went along:) The car looks amazing! Mr Plod won't be too happy when he sees him driving around in that thing! xD
  10. I know how you feel. My '67 Impala was stripped twice! End result is always worth it though.
  11. Bonnet/hood is taking shape. This centre trim piece has taken two days to complete. It's so fine I can barely get sand paper in there to shape it! I've just got to smooth out the scratch marks and a couple of nicks then I can start painting the car.
  12. ooh yes, I like those! Really nice work.
  13. "That was Bread, 'It don't matter to me' ..maybe Bread don't matter to you but it matters to me if you gonna pay the bills!" "This is Dick Biondi It's 1:29 in Chicago at the Voice of Labor." ??? WCFL, Big Ten Music??? "Here comes 'Dawn' ??? Candida??? " A couple excerpt from a broadcast on WCFL from 10/09/1970! Thought it be fun to put some here as I build this car up:) Got some more done on the hood, I took a piece of sprue and shaved it down until there was hardly anything left. I still have to clean it up and shape it a bit more to look right.
  14. Chris is who got me back into model building. I was only planning on building one car but now here I am after more than ten builds! Lol
  15. Cheers, guys, he appreciates the comments. If this is what he's knocking out now, he'll be producing some blinders in the future if he keeps at it.
  16. That's different, don't think I've ever seen a Topolino hot rod. It works really well! Very nice.
  17. I knew it wouldn't be long before Big Ear's chop shop would have a bad influence on Noddy, he's grown up to be quite the rebel! ..and he was such a good boy, xD
  18. He is certainly one of the best. oh yes, the wheels, they're wheel backs from Chris (chrisBcritter) I cant find the post now but I think he said they are copies from a Studebaker. I was going to make resin copies of the wheels from my '70 Pontiac build but Chris came to the rescue with these, which look much closer to what is on the Cutlass. I've sanded the peak of the cap flat, I just need to figure out how to do the small ring around the flat bit, I may just leave them flat in the centre and detail them.
  19. I've learned that radio personalities were a big comfort to many people back then. like you said, you felt like you knew them. Dick said in an interview that, there was a woman that would call him every night for two months and ask what time it is, he finally asked why one night 'why do you keep calling asking what time is it?' she replied, 'I just wanted to hear a man say goodnight to me before bed'
  20. I've started making the trim on the hood. I found a bumper guard in my spares stash to start the front, I'll carve some sprue to make the centre line and use a bit of filler to tidy it up.
  21. Yes, some of them. There's probably loads that I haven't listened to yet. Did you know him personally? He's still around and was still on radio up until 2018. There's a site called Reelradio.com and there's a few uploads on Youtube where you can find a few of his recordings, and tons more of other stations and jocks. If you like old radio and feel like a bit of time travel visit this site- https://archive.org/details/schweizerairchecks it's free, with hundreds of recordings from the 60's to the 2000:)
  22. Aerosols is all I've ever used. I'm no pro at this so I can't justify the cost of pro equipment, besides, the tool is only as good as it's worker! I get great results from aerosol, If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  23. Well done, very professional looking build! I too decided to build a kit a few months back after more than twenty years, I've built more than ten since then! Looking forward to seeing your next build
  24. Looks great, I like that colour. Looks like something a Bond villain would drive on his private island.
