  1. Nice. I like the mixing and matching of parts, there's always something I pick up from watching builds like this:)
  2. This is not done by me, but my fifteen year old son. I was surprised how much he enjoys this hobby, but what surprised me more is that this is his first ever build! All I did was help him to identify where certain parts went and how to hold a can of aerosol. He's since built a 1978 Corvette and is now starting on the Christine Plymouth.
  3. ok, I'm watching, I like stories, Lol. My mum was a big Enid Blyton fan. I remember reading a couple books she had, "The Famous Five"
  4. Yes, Dick Biondi, he's one my favourites to listen to on the old airchecks. He did loads of great shows, "Pop goes the music" "Super gold Rock and Roll" he even did his own songs. He worked at so many different stations, KRLA, WBZ, WNMB, would love to have been around when these guys were on the air!
  5. That's cool. Very realistic looking tyres. Some blackwash in the panel gaps would make it look like a 1:1 Very nice build.
  6. Very nice! My favourite era of American car design, you can see the move forward into the 60's but has a lot of the 1950's still present.
  7. wow, that looks amazing! I love the moss growing on the window rubbers and down the door gaps, real attention to detail there,?
  8. Yep, that's them, though they look to be skimping a bit on the malted centre there!
  9. Shaved the 442 badges off and the vents on the front wings. The front grill is too detailed for me to 'de-442 it' so will be left alone, I might be able to move the side light lenses from the centre to the sides as on the Cutlass but that's about as far as I'm comfortable going with changing the grill/bumper piece. One more visual alteration I have to do is make a trim piece that runs down the centre of the bonnet. Wheel centres were kindly supplied by Chris (ChrisBcritter) on here, thanks man:)
  10. Very nice. Don't see these here in the UK very often, but I think it's the most beautiful car VW ever made.
  11. Looks stunning. Good job on the repair to the window frame.
  12. Cool looking finish on that!
  13. I had to look up Malt Bars and they look like cakes, nothing like Maltesers. They're spherical chocolate balls with a malted milk centre. Lol, we're getting off topic, 'Topic' also the name of a popular chocolate bar here.. ok, ok, no more talk of chocolate, xD
  14. The colour I used is a Vauxhall colour from Halfords called Breeze Blue. Try an ad in the wanted section, I'm sure someone here will be able to cast some stock wheel covers.
  15. That joke definitely needed a rimshot, ?! Yeah, Fidelipac, or NAB cartridge as they were known.
  16. I have the Pontiac 2+2 I cut the roof off but I'm hoping I can fix that one day. I might have a go practising on that if I feel I can't fix it. Failed builds and parted out cars pop up on ebay all the time pretty cheaply, I could use one of those.
  17. Thanks, Bill. They were in the 1970 Pontiac custom pick-up by MPC. I did the stock car and had these left over.
  18. haha! yeah, I bailed out there big time! I do appreciate your tips and will be calling on you for a future build, I really want to do a weathered car now. I'll just jump into it next time and try to not worry about it. Probably the best way to go about it.
  19. WCFL in Chicago, it's 5:28 in Marina city, time for the Larry Lujack clunk letter of the day! Today's letter is from.. "bap bara baaam"... me! Dear uncle Lar, I'm doing a 1/25 model kit of the WCFL News car as a homage to the once great radio station that entertained so many in the windy city for so many years, when AM radio ruled and boss jocks were the kings of the airwaves. The car is a 442 that will be dressed down to the Cutlass, that was always first on the scene wherever there was a story in Chicago! Hopefully I do it justice and you approve of the end result as you look down from the great radio station in the sky. Right then, as soon as one build finishes another is on the table before the paint has had a chance to dry on the last one, haha! Looking forward to this one. If it's anything like the '67 Olds 442 I recently did, this will be a fun build:)
  20. Yeah, Probably why I prefer the old promo style interior tubs. It's not a bad kit actually, the most frustrating part was having to remove all the glued parts to see where the fit issue was, looks dramatic, but when I trimmed where it was needed it went together great from there on. What I would suggest when you build yours is to put the interior together with the chassis using some canopy glue or tape and trial fit it before it's all painted.
  21. I don't know about the two door but the four door has issues around the parcel shelf and firewall. Don't be put off though, I thoroughly enjoyed this build.
