Favorite Obscure or Discovered Music Album

For good modern music you have to look for it these days but it is out there. Here's one artist I like, nice 60's sound to this. -
Favorite Obscure or Discovered Music Album

..and here's the king of the Hammond organ, Lee Michaels. The organ doesn't feature here so much on his later stuff but still a good album. Man, what a voice! -
I bought this today and I have plans! I'd seen one in a metallic gold with a beige roof and Rostyle wheels. I hope to recreate it using this with a little kit-bashing.

Looks really good, I like it. Reminds me of the movie "The cars that ate Paris"

Same here, I never heard of the show until the kit came along. I've since built the car and it's a great little kit, I also took a butchers at the show and it's ehh, it's ok. I watched the first series, it's watchable but not much incentive to keep following the series, at least for me anyway.

Thanks, Larry.

Flipping heck, I didn't realise there were so many different variants! The WLS van could have been any of those up until the big change to the front grill. A resin copy of the van and grill might be an option if it's available using the newer kit?
-
Definitely! I haven't opened the box yet, but it looks like it has tons of the usual AMT toys and extras with it. I love that stuff, I wish more kits were like this.

I just did a search for the early van and your right, they are stupid expensive! oh well, I wont be putting an ad in wanted after all! Lol
-
I'll post in wanted section. The only scale vans of the early Dodge I've seen haven't been issued since the 70's. I think the tooling was destroyed to make the Bad Company van which has the wrong front to make the WLS van.

Bought this a few days ago. Couldn't find one in the UK so bought it from Germany. Can't wait to get started on it. I plan on doing the custom version, I really like the front design on this.

Thanks, guys. It's a very nice kit to work with, no real fit issues and was lots of fun doing this tribute build, so much so, I want to do another radio inspired vehicle, the WLS Magic Bus, though that will be a little harder to recreate. There only seems to be one picture of it in existence, and I think it's a Dodge Tradesman which I've never seen a 1/25 version of.

1966 Oldsmobile 442 (WCFL Radio New Car)

Thanks, Dave. I don't know a whole lot about the WLS van. There's only one picture I've found of it and a three second clip in a video. -
Looking good. Good job removing the old glue.

Nice looking kit. I had one of these in the late 90's, it was grey with a red roof. Lovely car to drive but rotted like nothing I've ever seen before!
-
I like that nicely done. I love the wheels.

Great save, and what a nice result. Looks very nice. I wish I could find kits like this thrown in the landfill!

This is the 1966 Oldsmobile 442 by AMT which I downgraded to a Cutlass so I could recreate the news reporter's car from WCFL Radio. Being a 442 kit there is a lot that will be wrong for the Cutlass model, but I changed what I could to make it look close. I sanded off the fender vents and badges and added a trim piece down the centre of the hood. The wheel caps were supplied by Chris (chrisBcritter) and the WCFL stickers done by Swiss Valley Print, a local print shop. The kit go's together very well with no fit issues, though the rear bumper could fit better but I think that's due to warping in storage and not the mould itself. I added a spotlight from my spares tin and an antenna with the WCFL yellow "SunSet" ball on top. I also added side windows using a plastic takeaway tray. Under the hood I just changed the air filter housing to look more like the stock Cutlass. So there we are, what a fun little build this was and a thoroughly enjoyable WIP thread.

There we go she's done, and what a fun little project this was. I had a great time with this build, from looking up history of old radio stations, links to old broadcasts, and hearing your experiences and memories of radio from back in the day, and of course the build itself. There are other radio vehicles I'd like to do, like the WLS Magic Bus, so watch this space as they say! I'll post more pictures in the completed section. -
Very nice paint. Been wanting to build the newer release of this but doesn't come as a hardtop, only convertible or station wagon, the later never existed.

That's cool. I wonder if the stations bought the cars or if they were owned by the reporter? Here's another WCFL car, I think from the 50's, looks like it belongs to the radio station itself.
