  1. He's one lucky kid! haha,
  2. Great looking weathering, very nice build.
  3. Looks amazing. Nicely detailed.
  4. That's nice, I like the colour. Looks a nicely detailed kit.
  5. This is good, I do hope this is not just a flash in the pan and that people forgot how enjoyable (and addictive) this hobby is! I bought my 15 year old son a '64 Chevy, he enjoyed it so much he bought the 1978 Corvette pace car shortly after with his own earnings. He's now looking at the Christine Plymouth to do next. He's a proper gamer kid so I never thought he'd be into this hobby.
  6. I try to post only two pictures per post, cos if someone quotes on a ten picture post you end up with twenty pictures in the thread!
  7. Well, you've certainly inspired me enough to buy the AMT '57 Chevy, haha! It won't look as good as this, but I'll try.
  8. That's the thing, I don't have any stock wheels or lined tyres, only the steels with no hubcaps and plain tyres. I can do resin copies of the caps but I don't think they will suit this car. At this point I'm thinking of doing a white vinyl roof, white interior and Cragars.
  9. Yeah, that's the one, I didn't know it was that old.
  10. Since watching Geoff's build of his blue '57 I've been telling myself I have no room for more models, but I couldn't resist last night and bought an AMT '57! Stop making such nice builds, try blurring the camera or something, Lol!
  11. Not for years, though I had one in the late 80's of a 1937 Studebaker that I put together so many times I could complete it just by looking at each individual piece and know exactly where it went! It became a party trick with some friends and family as they watched me put together a (I think 100 piece) puzzle in minutes, Lol!
  12. Thanks. I thought so too, now I'm too scared to weather it in case I ruin it, Lol!
  13. Paint peel and reaction is the worst:( Anyway, not having done a weathered model before and being a little bit on edge with what happened regarding the black primer, I'm strongly considering doing this as factory fresh. The blue I used here was just a random can of paint I grabbed just to get it over with, it could have been pink for all I cared last night! ..but I had no idea how well this colour would suit the car. I may leave the weathering idea for another build and just do what I do best while I'm ahead.
  14. Had to do a colour change as I don't have enough of the Jade green to cover this again, so went with a metallic blue. There's a coat of red primer underneath, hopefully it'll work out this time.
  15. I've already painted it.
  16. I built this a few months back as a San Francisco yellow cab. It came in a very plain black and white box.
  17. Very nice. I love these old kits.
  18. I saw a base model mk2 Ford Fiesta in a lovely blue colour today. It looked spotless, well looked after. I used to have the mk1 and they were great cars.
  19. Loving this build! I just can't get over the foiling?
  20. Welcome:) Nice rig! I've always wanted to build one since my dad built a Kenworth in the early 80's, but I have no room for them.
  21. Thanks, Rob. Black plastic go's grey when scuffed up, it can be polished back to black but then looks like shinny black paint, I can see the reasoning for black primer on black plastic. Anyway, I won't be using that black primer again. I'll probably do a lighter weathering, like a lightly sun burned paint job showing areas of red primer, either that, or factory fresh box stock. "Stick to what you know" speaks loudly to me, Lol!
  22. Thanks mate. Yeah, it's all good. I've just painted the headliner white again, I always paint the headliner first, so just waiting for that to set so I can mask it off.
  23. Here's two I reckon would sell well, The reliant Regal van from Only Fools & Horses, and the dude's four door Gran Torino from The Big Lebowski.
  24. Lovely work. I used to see these in convoy all the time going back and forth from Pembrey weapons range.
  25. Same masking tape I always use, low tac pinstripe tape. I don't cover my models entirely with tape, I use the low tac on the edge of what I'm painting and then I use paper to cover the model using regular tape.
