  1. I like Scale Hobbyist and have purchased from them many times. Comparing Scalehobbyist to Hobby Lobby is no comparison.
  2. Thanks for the correction! I didn't know they had another P-63. I don't keep up with CAF stuff like I used to.
  3. Wow. That's 2 B-17s lost in the past few years. Best I remember the P-63 was an early test aircraft and restored to a high standard. I don't have a photo of the B-17 Texas Raiders on my computer, but I saw it and the P-63 at the Sun N Fun Airshow a couple years ago. Here's the P-63
  4. Hit the HL by the house. I think they had the Porsche mis-priced....... I may go back in the morning and grab another one. I agree about the prices going up, but not much we can do about it except for not buying kits!
  5. Saw this creation in traffic the other day. Wasn't able to get a photo, but watched a guy in a '65 Corvette eating up the hammer lane heading the other direction with a state trooper behind him, disco lights flashing.?
  6. Nothing too exciting but picked up a '67 Vette and VW Beetle at HL. I'm surprised they didn't re-price the Beetle with the higher price like the new Revell inventory! I'm trying to work a deal on a 1:1 Corvette so my kit buying money might be limited for a while!
  7. Very nice photographic work! Nice selection of cars too!
  8. The local HL to me has two shelf slots marked "Ford Assortment" and "Chevrolet Assortment". I'm assuming that's done for the exact reason you stated. I've picked up a couple unicorns from those slots LOL.
  9. The '67 Corvette & '56 T-bird would be great additions. I'll have to check my local stores next week. Thanks for the heads up!
  10. I've checked many different Wal-Marts in my travels from the west coast to east coast of FL and points in between and have yet to see any kits in the stores! No rhyme or reason! LOL
  11. Been looking for another AMT '28 Model A Tudor kit. Got this from Crazy Jim here on the forum.
  12. That grey Porsche was a very nicely done car. Here's a couple more pics.
  13. Same with the ones I frequent here in FL. The aircraft selection seems to have taken the biggest hit with cars second. Lots of Star Wars & Gundam stuff though.
  14. I'd love to have that '60 Sunliner. I probably still have a few NOS pieces laying around for it too!
  15. Don't give it up just yet. I've got arthritis in both hands from 30+ years restoring 1:1 cars and I can still build, just a little more slowly than in the past. My grandfather had polio that left him severely weakened by the time I came around. He still built kits, just adapted to his changing physical capabilities. I always say it's his fault I'm in this hobby.. LOL
  16. No pic due to traffic but saw an E type Jag Coupe broke down on the side of the road. Probably something to do with the Lucas electric stuff......
  17. One of the better car shows in central Florida returned after a 3 year hiatus. While some of the show can get pretty high hat, it's nice to see a good variety of cars. Here are a small sample of some photos I took today. The grey Packard was a nice unrestored original car. Always a treat to see those.
  18. The Chris Craft is 1/56 scale, I'm assuming a box scale as Revell was known to do back then! Like you I had the Hubley Model A's when I was a kid. I try to snag every one I find at a reasonable price.
  19. While primarily a aircraft & armor show, there's good stuff to be had in the vendor area and it's close for me. I didn't carry my regular camera so excuse the poor quality of the photos.
  20. Went to the Modelpalooza show in Orlando today. Picked up a few things. The AMT Mercedes was a pleasant surprise as was the MPC '56 Corvette, both picked up at a great price. Bought a few bagged kits but they're not pictured. I'll post some photos of the show in the events section.
  21. Some fine culinary skills in this thread! I feel inadequate with my French toast & sausage supper! Seems I eat breakfast for supper more than I do for breakfast!
  22. Hurts to see these............. That being said I'd have no issue what so ever taking on a C1 or C2 flood car project.
  23. I have had absolutely zero issues with them. Good folks to deal with! I have even sent them emails asking if they had this or that old mold and they had the courtesy to answer.
  24. I always wait a week or two before sanding & buffing. I'd be wary of using those buffing pads. You run the risk of burning through the paint especially on edges. Using the schedule I posted on this thread I can compound & clean(wipe down with some Meguiars Quik Detailer to get the buffing haze & lint off) an average 1/24-1/25 scale body in 10-15 minutes by hand. Forgot to mention- I use old cut up cotton T-shirts to compound & wax with. Usually freebie ones I got from the Automotive paint store! LOL
