This one is almost finished but here's a little background on it. Should have the parts to wrap it up this week.
AMT Bel Air sedan kit. Converted to a 210, raised the rear wheelwells, used a 9" Ford rear end and made some lift shackles.
Added the lips back onto the rear openings, trimmed the front bumper filler, first coat of primer. Installed a big block from a Revell '66 El Camino, modified tunnel ram from the Old Pro Nova, grafted in the firewall from a Revell tri-5, converted the radiator to the 6 cylinder position, and made some Lakewood traction bars.
Made my best efforts to remove the molded in exhaust, got rid of the stock bellhousing mounts and made a new trans crossmember and added a saddle style engine crossmember. Also moved the rear springs in line with the framerails and got rid of the factory spring mounts (only the rears are gone in these pictures).
Wheels are the Cragars from an AMT '65 El Camino. The tires will be changing.
Firewall blended in and holes in the cowl for the old hood 'hinge' filled. Shaved the molded in wipers and door handles to install chrome ones later. Correct fender separation lines also scribed.
Color is Tamiya British Green from the can, sanded and polished.
Mostly box stock interior except for some parts box high back buckets (might be mopar...I had to fill the backs of them in and did a little putty work to make them more of a horse-shoe style than with a separate head rest), added a different steering wheel, detailed the dash and added an under dash gauge panel which is just one of the numbered areas cut off of a chrome tree with gauge decals on it.
Started on foiling and assembly. Since these shots as mentioned it is mostly finished. When the new rubber gets here it'll go together pretty quickly and you'll see it in a finished post!
Valve covers came from Calnaga Castings (copy of Revell pro-stock pieces). Headers are also from the Old Pro. Distributor is Connkur and while it was exspensive, is really really nice and closely resembles a Mallory dual point. Steering box is also from a Revell '66 El Camino.
