  1. Thanks Chris and Hector. A reissue would definitely be nice. Thanks Anthony. Here is a picture of the clear I used on this build and a number of others the last couple years.
  2. Great looking build and one of Fords best looking cars of the eighties.
  3. Thanks Glen. Thanks Steve. I think the rub strips on the front and rear bumpers along with the foiling for the tail light ribs are very important details in creating the proper look. Thanks Charles. And true the color works quite well with the light green metallics offered by GM in the mid '70's. Now if I could just find a light metallic blue that was offered during that time period.
  4. Thanks ed, Garry, Bruce, Dennis and Doyle. I've always preferred the first two generations of the Monte Carlo but think they still look good in the G-body era. Thanks Steve and Hanjo. The Landau top was the best look on these cars. Thanks Jay. It's a removable black vinyl that comes in 12"x12" sheets. I picked up a 5 pack for about 10 bucks a few years back from Amazon. It's actually much more than I'll ever need. Thanks Jeremy, Larry, Eric and James. Thanks Richard. While I like stacked lights on the '76-'77 model years I actually prefer the '73-'75's with the round lights. Thank you Barry, Gerald, John and Terry. Thanks David and Al. Thanks Curtis. I agree on the need for a reissue. Thanks EMRE. It's a relatively quick build until the final details. Especially the time it takes for me to foil the tail light ribs. Thanks Mike, David and Craig.
  5. Built this 1/25 scale '77 Monte Carlo from the Revell release that was molded in bright green. Model has been painted in Dupli-Color Hampsted Green with Rust Oleum for the clear. I thought the color was a decent match for the Medium Green offered that year and generally have a particular liking for these mid 70's GM A-bodies in green.. The black rocker striping and bumper rub strips are from the vinyl sheet used on my previous build. This time around I applied the vinyl with canopy glue as opposed to white glue which seemed to provide a better bond particularly to the bumpers. For the body colored areas between the grill sections very thin strips of the vinyl were also used. And after priming and painting canopy glue was also used for attachment. I like the Rally wheels on these cars (along with the Turbine wheels) but decided to switch it up and went with the wire wheel covers from the AMT '65 Chevelle wagon with spare wheel backs from the AMT '66 Wildcat. I sanded down the thickness of the wheel covers to pull the tires inwards from the body but I still think the tires sit out a bit too far. So as always there is room for improvement.
  6. Great looking factory color and overall work on the build.
  7. Absolutely perfect paint work and really has a 1:1 look in the outdoor photos. Rally wheels (which I've found tricky to detail accurately) add to the realism. I've never given much thought to painting tires but I do see the difference you have created versus what's offered in the box.
  8. Very nice build and an appropriate color combination for that era Ford.
  9. Perfect clear finish and top notch detailing throughout. Looks like Chevys were fairly popular in your neighborhood back then. Glad to hear you're doing better Mike.
  10. Stunning build in an awesome color combination.
  11. Great looking paint, foil and detail work on the engine bay. I like the floor mat in the cargo area. Looks very realistic.
  12. That's simply beautiful throughout.
  13. Great shine! Nice looking aftermarket wheels.
  14. Beautiful paint work and I like the whitewalls. Are those the door cards from the Revell '69 Camaro?
  15. Great work David. The color reminds me of Testors Inca Gold.
  16. Very impressive paint work.
  17. Stunning paint and foil work. The bright yellow and green interior work well.

    '68 Chevelle

Turned out very nice with excellent work on the interior details. Hope I do as well as you have with the body stripe decals when I get to building mine.
  19. Very impressive work. The rear shot almost passes for the 1:1 and the canopy top works well with this body style. The side mirrors, rub strips on the bumpers and the whitewalls add greatly to the overall appearance.
  20. Outstanding work Anders! So wonderfully detailed and a great shade of bright blue.
  21. Looks great including the excellent foil work.
  22. Awesome looking builds!
  23. Some truly beautiful builds here and at the link. Also very interesting information at the website regarding the necessity of painting both sides of a thinly molded hood when using auto paints.
  24. Absolute beauty!
  25. Great looking blue.
