  1. That looks excellent. And can't go wrong with the green/tan combo. Of course I'm partial to green cars anyhow.

    56 T-Bird

    Gorgeous T-Bird. Great color!
  3. Great looking stripes and shine. The tan interior works also works well with the exterior color.
  4. Very nice conversion of a somewhat forgotten car.
  5. That is very pretty and the color combination is striking.
  6. Great factory looking build and excellent paint and panel line detailing.
  7. That is done very beautifully.
  8. Great looking build Ken. Never bought one of these since I was always concerned about getting the decals (which are necessary) correct.
  9. Great looking build with very nicely done trim work.
  10. Great paint work and color combination.
  11. Thanks Doyle, Larry and Erock. Thanks Jeremy and David. Thanks Carl. I think the vinyl tops are a difference maker on these large cars.
  12. Great looking Coronet and the seat detailing is excellent.
  13. That's an absolutely beautiful shade of gold on a very clean build. Decals and hood detailing all look nice. They were corporate blue starting in '77 but nothing wrong with Chevy Engine Orange. I've built one of these and just picked up another recently and definitely enjoyed the build.
  14. Thanks Donato and Eric. The dark green and whitewalls are how I best remember these cars.
  15. Great paint finish and excellent work on the bodyside molding. And helpful and interesting information with regards to bodywork.
  16. That is the one. I don't have an airbrush at this point but I may attempt painting in another manner. Regardless thanks for the reply Steve.
  17. Thanks Greg. I spend a lot of time wet sanding them. I also made a couple window cranks using your topic from a while back as a general guideline. I did okay but need some improvement.
  18. Thank you Steve and Craig.
  19. Thanks Michelle, Jim and Glen Thanks Garry. For me part of the appeal from that generation is the concave rear window. Thanks Hector. There's some great YouTube videos on Glasshouse car show gatherings I enjoy. Thanks Hanjo, Chris and Jeff. The wheel covers were a bit of a challenge and honestly the Landau style wheels covers would've been a better kit option. Thanks Matthew, their still fairly plentiful despite being out a while. Thanks Bob, Tom and Gareth. I much prefer the styling of these old full size coupes to todays vehicles that dominate the automotive landscape. Thanks Bob, Lee and Mario. The color combination is not only what I remember and like but also what I owned from GM cars in this era. Thanks David and Andy This color is just slightly darker than the one offered that year. Thanks Steve I'm thinking of doing one in a Burgundy color eventually. I made sure of the windshield pillars but didn't get the body colored sections between the tail lights. I'm okay with the bodyside molding in bright though it had vinyl insert. I noticed on your build that you have that molding correct. How did you accomplish the painted section of the molding as neatly as you did?
  20. And finally a couple sunset shots
  21. Last post in Under Glass for the year is this 1/25 scale MPC '76 Chevrolet Caprice Classic from the reissue with the retro box art. It's painted in Dupli-Color Chrysler Forest Green Pearl with Rust-Oleum clear. White wall tires are AMT Firestones and the side view mirror is from the AMT '70 Monte Carlo. I "backlit" the provided tail lights with the bright side of some aluminum foil. The tail pipes hang too low and aren't molded very cleanly and an area I'd like to improve on my next build. I used the "Caprice" decal for the trunk script from one of the recent reissues. Since this build I've done foil under paint on a second build and the trunk script foiled is an improvement over the decal. Though not everyone's cup of tea I've always admired the '71-'76 B-body coupes (and convertibles) from Chevrolet. And I've always had a particular liking for the '76 Caprice with it's curved front end and rectangular head lights. And why I picked up a half dozen of these kits.
  22. Gorgeous '57. All the foil work on the trim looks perfect.
  23. Classic color combination for a classic car. Great work.

    69 Nova

Turned out great. Paint color is attractive and the panel lines look to be blackwashed nicely. Looking forward to building this kit soon for the first time.
  25. Great paint work.
