  1. Thank you, it was a fun build Thank you Thank you Thank you, sent you a pm
  2. Thanks for the tips, the interior is probably going to be the easiest part of this build haha. And the greatest thing is that I don’t have to scramble around the internet to find source photos, I can just go to the garage and look at it hahah.
  3. Well I’m happy that I’ll have at least one follower.
  4. This is going to be a huge departure form what you usually see me build! I’m building a replica of my 1976 Vw Scirocco, I’ve owned her since 2002, and I’ve been around mk1 vws since 1991, so yeah it’s a subject I know well. Follow along as I try to make this old amt kit look like my own car. first step is to make the engine look correct
  5. Well I pulled a 97 release off the shelf I’m the crypt and started building. First thing to do was add a nice deep Zed to the rear frame and trim the front spring perch and spring from the existing kit. Added a nice flathead from the revell 50 ford truck and topped it off with a nice Meyer twin carb manifold and some nice detailed heads all 3D printed. Somehow managed to get it together even with the extreme shake in my hands that I’ve developed recently. Color is Tamiya TS45 pearl white, interior seat and door panels are a custom “oxblood” blend i concocted with Tamiya colours as well. Was hoping to get a nice sunny day to capture the pearl but alas it’s getting gloomy up here in the GWN. Hope you like it, and all feed back is welcome as always edit added two new pictures as there were some details that were missed. Thanks to the keen eye that nicely pointed those out!
  6. The 10 year old Inside me is estatic, the only movie car that captivated me. I have wanted this kit for a long time, but as was already mentioned it’s priced beyond what I’d pay. your rendition is amazing.
  7. Tidy work here, I like the solid radius rods a lot.
  8. Gonna call it… Done. Follow up for under glass glamour shots, need one or two in day light to see the pearl.
  9. Cool, hit me up when you get back John.
  10. Well shaky hands be damned, this is getting finished tonight!
  11. It’s all in the small details now, alignment of the interior panels etc.
  12. Thank you, I try to build cars that appeal to my senses lol, cars that I would actually own and drive. And I love the design of the flathead engine, yes it’s not as powerfull as the sbc, nailheads or olds mills. But it has a unique character.
  13. No, it’s not a kit that I own
  14. Neat stuff there, I still have the sbc from the 29 roadster Unfinished as I’m still trying to source a decent tunnel ram to go on it.
  15. Thank you Carl, I’ve dealt with and have overcome a lot of adversities in my life, I took up this hobby again after my heart attack to find a low stress low impact hobby. It has had its moments, but loss of control over my hands would make this a difficult hobby to continue. I’ll keep plugging away as long as I can.
  16. Well you are off to a great start, the four door conversion is on point and your paint and flames are perfect!
  17. I love love love wagons!
  18. Thank you Jim, I’m excited to get it across the finish line, now that it’s close to the end it deserved a name. Not gonna lie the wires took hours, had to figure out new ways to brace/steady my hands. I usually don’t have to use stands and clamps for wiring, but hey I’m not getting any younger. This most likely stems back to neck injuries from my past, I know I have nerve damage.
  19. Vapor pearl the roadster is getting close to finishing.
  20. If you haven’t shot paint on the body yet, why not make a trunk lip with some styrene to fill the gaps in the trunk opening? Like a rain gutter
  21. Appointment on Friday, thank you
