  1. Guys. I won’t get this done this year. I have been interrupted on the build with a vacation with my wife. So I can’t bring this model and all the proper tools along with me. sorry.
  2. Use the plastic spoon for the rear arch….
  3. Welcome James, that is an ambitious undertaking for a third model build! I will be watching and encouraging you on as this looks like a nice car to model. There may be parts from Spotmodel that you can get for hood pins, lights, wheels, etc and are on your side of the ocean. Bring it on, let's see your progress!
  4. Nice! I like the Norm Nelson decals!!! Bobby Unser drove a Chris Vallo purple Road Runner to a win at the Milwaukee Mile back in the day if I remember correctly. That was the first of the "mystery" money men that I can ever remember in racing. Now it seems pretty common to get funny munny in racing these days!
  5. Wow! Didn't think anyone would ever build one of these! The one I have is molded in weird metallic green. This looks great and you did a darn nice job making this model look like good. People seem to dismiss this model, and thanks for bringing your talents to this forum.
  6. I broke my left foot metatarsal about 11 weeks ago. I have been pavement bike riding a bit. Finally got in a mountain bike ride last night (in the dark nonetheless). It was our 20th anniversary of the Tree Farm ride on Tuesday nights. I have been riding with the group about 15 plus years. Felt SOO GOOD to get back out on the trail. Frozen ground, a little dusting of snow, night time, I am happy again.
  7. Good links but stupid me. I meant to say an audi Quattro sport rally car kit.
  8. I have one. Should I bump the price up and sell it?
  9. I am building a polar lights Ford GT right now that has a lot of those things on the inside of surfaces. I am also building a bemax audi that I think is the same as nunu. I agree with your points of the details. That audi also have the VERY wrong wheels and tires in the lot and am having a hard time finding the correct ones. they have a long way to go. But the subject matter is not available elsewhere.
  10. Great attention to details. I have not seen the front and rear ends go so well together, meaning nice and flush to appear "not so thick" like your Chevelle does. Excellent work, thank you for inspiring!
  11. Going all in and setting up tomorrow. Hope the kits are safe overnight and no surprises Sunday morning. At least hope to cover costs and a few bucks more. Will be more Tamiya and "sports car" centered and decided to see if my 1/8 scale Jaguar E Type....
  12. Nice setup and love the placement of the cars on the boxes. Great tutorial on the history of those Mercury model kits, and great builds that do them justice for sure!
  13. Excellent build and colors for what was a really boring car in a really bad time for cars! I love it!
  14. Aren't teachers providing a good amount of child abuse with the in class curriculum er, I mean, agenda?
  15. Cool build. It was so good to see Jones get a win this year, and earn it at that! After yesterdy, I a gonna get me one of these kits and build a Ross Chastain version!
  16. "Anyone remember this" LOL, perhaps one of the best songs sound wise there is. Great sound along with a lot of other Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, and perhaps some Peter Murphy tunes. Funny story, went to a Peter Murphy/NIN concert many years back, Trent and NIN just blew the "warm up act" away!
  17. That truck is really sweet. Only thing it needs is a low tire or two...LOL. How did you get the windshield to look delaminated like that? Nice touch.
  18. Tom, truck looks great as does the trailer! Excellent photography, you could fool a lot of people that this is the real thing. Like the colors and the red frame really accents the gold!
  19. James, just drill some holes in the black "sheetmetal" next to the intake manifold runners, that is where the plugs end up in the real cars. Just under that sheet metal are the cylinder heads, and the plug wires go through the sheet metal to get there... Enjoy!
  20. This is an excellent kit. I built it just this year after getting the same model from HL as a Christmas gift from my wife! I had no problems building the kit, it is really super detailed for the simplicity that it has. The engine parts are a bit tiny but builds up nicely. I even wired the distributor and shoved the wires "back there" since they aren't really seen. Interior builds up real easy with separate panels and lots of detail, headliner too.... Really can't think of any tough spots,,,,maybe make sure you sand the mold marks and shape the front fenders around the headlamp area correctly, they just need a little putty and filling primer and you are good to go. A negative may be the tiny and fiddly tiny decals for the air cleaner and radio, but just be patient.
  21. Hey, now that is a sweet looking model! Very well done and thanks for sharing your work! Clean clean clean!
  22. Might look same but a lot of fitting and patience to get to this stage where the engine is installed and main chassis parts glued in place. Wheels are straight but will get more weathering later as I progress. The tanks for fuel and air (which you can’t really see) are slightly weathered and will get some diesel fuel on them as well. But the basic chassis done….now back to the cab and dump body.
  23. Wow, I would say you salvaged a challenging kit pretty darn well. Good job and congrats, it looks better as the race car than the die cast street car....
  24. Ima gonna follow this build thread. Cause I wanna build one of these myself!
