  1. "Anyone remember this" LOL, perhaps one of the best songs sound wise there is. Great sound along with a lot of other Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, and perhaps some Peter Murphy tunes. Funny story, went to a Peter Murphy/NIN concert many years back, Trent and NIN just blew the "warm up act" away!
  2. That truck is really sweet. Only thing it needs is a low tire or two...LOL. How did you get the windshield to look delaminated like that? Nice touch.
  3. Tom, truck looks great as does the trailer! Excellent photography, you could fool a lot of people that this is the real thing. Like the colors and the red frame really accents the gold!
  4. James, just drill some holes in the black "sheetmetal" next to the intake manifold runners, that is where the plugs end up in the real cars. Just under that sheet metal are the cylinder heads, and the plug wires go through the sheet metal to get there... Enjoy!
  5. This is an excellent kit. I built it just this year after getting the same model from HL as a Christmas gift from my wife! I had no problems building the kit, it is really super detailed for the simplicity that it has. The engine parts are a bit tiny but builds up nicely. I even wired the distributor and shoved the wires "back there" since they aren't really seen. Interior builds up real easy with separate panels and lots of detail, headliner too.... Really can't think of any tough spots,,,,maybe make sure you sand the mold marks and shape the front fenders around the headlamp area correctly, they just need a little putty and filling primer and you are good to go. A negative may be the tiny and fiddly tiny decals for the air cleaner and radio, but just be patient.
  6. Hey, now that is a sweet looking model! Very well done and thanks for sharing your work! Clean clean clean!
  7. Might look same but a lot of fitting and patience to get to this stage where the engine is installed and main chassis parts glued in place. Wheels are straight but will get more weathering later as I progress. The tanks for fuel and air (which you can’t really see) are slightly weathered and will get some diesel fuel on them as well. But the basic chassis done….now back to the cab and dump body.
  8. Wow, I would say you salvaged a challenging kit pretty darn well. Good job and congrats, it looks better as the race car than the die cast street car....
  9. Ima gonna follow this build thread. Cause I wanna build one of these myself!
  10. Turbine was from "The Lively Set" movie,,,,cool anyway! A turbine rally car with gravel setup and driving lights...and even a co driver plunked in the passenger seat!
  11. until

This is an NNL. Plan to be there....First time getting a table. Any one else plan on attending?
  12. That is AWESOME especially that last picture! I loved that movie, like all Elvis movies, fun, cheezy and had cool cars in it! He drove a turbine in one movie didn't he" Like Fireball 500 or something. Anyway, great job on the Charger really appreciate you sharing this with us! Keep em coming! "I'm gonna win this race".... Elvis sings...
  13. Hey guys, in mid November, a buddy and I are sharing a table to see if we can unload some kits at the DAAM show in Warren, Michigan. We have never done this before, only have we brought our models to show and buy stuff at the swap meet. So this time while I would like to bring some models to show in the NNL contest, I am not sure if I this is feasible or not. I plan to have to be at the table trying to sell some of my rare kits, and probably shouldn't expect time for goofing around? What have you guys experienced with this? Buddy is bringing models to show, so I will likely have to cover for him at the table during the duration. Also, any other thoughts good or bad experiences selling stuff at the swap meet? Thanks in advance.
  14. Awesome add with the lights!, and all the nice clean details, very nice.
  15. Randy, that is some fine detail. I have already built my 037 some years ago, and the engine upper is visible through the rear backlite. One thing they should be producing, are proper gravel wheels and tires, like shown on the box art and the instruction sheet. That would be nice from the first glance at the model, the tarmac setups just aren't what all rallies are about. I am in need of some gravels for my Audi Quattro and can't find a vendor that has the right setup, so it sits at service on jack stands getting time barred!
  16. Looks good. I really like this build. Would be cool to see you come up with some flatbed to transform this into your original plans.
  17. Moving along, decided to assemble and weather the engine and chassis. This is just a mock up at this time with the engine dropped in and the weathered wheel assemblies loose and in place….
  18. Finally got a 240RS at a semi decent price. Need these specific Enkei wheels for other projects and will put this one in the build rotation. I have the factory sales brochure from the old group B days….
  19. I just found a 240RS kit hopefully to be in my hands at the end of the month. Those 1/12 scale F1 cars look interesting, however I notice some of the subtleties in the design of the models in 1/24 are a little off or squared up or don't have the fullness of the real cars. So Tamiya is the standard, lets see how they stack up.
  20. Since I started a Mustang II like this 40 years ago, wide flares to be an IMSA contender, I will follow along and encourage you to finish the build. You are on the right track, and the "easy" one at that with the already molded Fiero IMSA parts. Looks good. You going for a street or track car?
  21. Did a little weathering to the chassis in areas that may be hard to get to once glued together..... Then started working on the dump body. The parts are warped and needed quite a bit of oomph or whatever to get them to line up....but they will get there! Next up a bit o primer then to simulate aluminum.....stay tooned.
  22. I would go for a front end and rear bumper/fascia as well. The one in the kit is so wrong, it would be nice to get a good 70 to 73 front end with grilles as well. Are these available anywhere?
  23. Bronzekeg, that has nice character and charm, something current digital art misses entirely. I like it and the fact that you put yourself out in the open with your artwork. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Roger, time for an update! I have taken a hiatus from building every summer so that I can enjoy the time outdoors. It now has gotten colder, and I broke my foot last week, so what best to spend the time with? Modeling of course! Here are a few updates to the Autocar truck. I painted the chassis semi gloss, as it will be dusted with dirt washes. Added some decals and cleared with a semi gloss clear to protect them. Used scotch pad on the tires for a little realism. Did a little mock up work....
