  1. Wow, lots of interest here and should yield a lot of cool WIP builds. Add me to the list. I am gonna build and finish the Autocar dump truck that I bought from HL last year.
  2. Tim, I think if the Firebird jus had updates to the original Monogram tooling you could have your Formulas. My problem with the TransAm is the nose is so inaccurate that I don't want to build the kit..I could remodel or remold it, but have other fish to fry...
  3. Like with the 2x paint, the manufacturer won't know there is a problem with their product if the product is not returned to the store, or a warranty claim is created by requesting a new body from Revell.
  4. Maybe I said it already. tool ip a current MY full size pick up truck.
  5. LOL! Old age is catching up with me! Apparently the can is Krylon, and I can't tell the difference. Good Catch Zippi.
  6. LOL, I thought you were going to say that you first became acquainted with these cars in a different manner - mainly the back seat.
  7. Can you post a photo of that model? I have never seen it, and the 67 was an interesting design with the front fender caps and headlamp arrangement, looked like a custom car right from the factory!
  8. Can you send me some? Trade for a model perhaps? We used to get it here, but about 6 years ago can only get the yellow carton stuff and it is not as good as the black carton bock. I miss it. So to answer the original question here. My favorite depends on the mood and session. (get it?) Lawnmower beer is Hamms or PBR. Founders IPA or Sierra Nevada IPA are goodies. And Rochester Brewing Co MIlkshake Stout is my favorite winter relaxing beer, sometimes takes an hour or more to down the pint...
  9. Nice. I built that as a 1972 annual many moons ago. Painted it silver like my cousins Mach 1 351 automatic. I thought the body was pretty good….
  10. That is really Boss.
  11. Thanks espo, I think that cross ram came from an old AMT MonteCarlo kit. The first generation MC.
  12. Hey Kurt, thanks for the comment. I don't have a WIP on saving those old Tamiya Firestones, but I can tell you that I PayPalled someone who had a set and he sent them to me. That is the lazy way, but, yea, I am lazy some days. ?
  13. Love seeing builds of peoples cars they owned, especially the race cars. Some of those are now long gone, but we can recreate them in plastic with the skills we still have!
  14. Those were the good old days! Adventure is king. Glad to see that you had an “adventure” in rallying. And thanks for the shout out. You may see some rally models on here soon. anyhoo. To stay on or off topic. I sprayed this with an old can of rust oleum ivory (but not 2x) with that crummy nozzle today. One dust and one wet coat. It’s shrinking. But I want to preserve the details with low build up.
  15. That was quite a while ago with the first one....
  16. Just a four, including some you have seen already. First two I started 30 years plus ago and finally got em done. The Ferrari I rebuilt from an old build from the teens. And I considered the background and my interim paint room "completed" at this point because they are both up and running, although still need some work.
  17. Ok, so to be truthful, I never realized there is a 2x brand and that it may be different from regular Rustoleum. So I guess I can't really comment on that. Question, which tips do they use on the 2x brand? More than one design? If I may ask?
  18. Funny Mike! ? But I just take it back to Lowes or wherever and they do it no hassle!
  19. This thing just plugged up on me. My current favorite heavy fill primer. Maybe 15% gone in the can. I thinner soaked the tip. It’s still plugged. I blew compressed air down the tube back into the can. That is not the problem. So I drilled out the tip with a 75 bit and it sprays pretty heavy. this will be a nice way to decant it. I may suggest a smaller drill bit to run through those crummy tips.
  20. Hey guys, I am surprised not a ONE of you have voted by RETURNING the product (s) to the store and get a new can or refund. The Rust O Leum's of the world will never feel the pain if they don't have to warranty any product, and just sell more and more. Take it back, try again, rinse and then DON'T repeat.
  21. My wife has a very sensitive nose. I used to paint in the basement with a MicroMark spray booth vented directly outside. She could smell the paint within minutes upstairs watching tv. Here is the catch. The HVAC system pulled the fumes from the basement and distributed them throughout the ductwork in the house. Consider that as a problem or not...
  22. TR is that your grandpa in the photo with the fish? This is so cool to see you restoring this model to replicate your daily driver subject, a straight six Impala! Keep up the good work, I am subscribed to this build.
  23. Wow you guys build/plan to build a lot of models! Here is my plan, let me think.... The Revell Beetle that I got from Santa and started right away. The AMT 65 Bonneville already started The Tamiya Leyton House - about 60 percent complete The original issue Demon slant six (car I learned to drive in - was pop's car) The Hasegawa Datsun 510 Safari Rally car halfway home already Don Garlits 1/16 Revell scale rear engine dragster And finally finish the Tamiya FW14b 1/12 scale..... OH, forgot about the AMT Autocar dump truck about 60 percent on the way home... There are others, but these are on top of the list until I pull out another project....which I really would like to be... The Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 908 NuNu Audi Quattro John Buffum Olympus version Aoshima Nissan 200SX turned into Group A rally car Lotus 79 Tamiya 1/20....
  24. You got me interested. 25 weeks for 25 bucks a week? Is that correct? Is this reliable?
  25. Nice! While not my favorite style, you are convincing me on the Ford pickup. That really really looks awesome in that stance and color. Really like the 67 Camaro too, thanks for sharing!
