This irks me to no end. Black windows where you can't see the intent of the person behind the wheel (not necessarily the driver). Riding a bike, walking or I suspect being on a motorbike makes this dangerous at best. Not sure why is gets passed over as legal? Fines should be increased so enforcement makes a dent in curtailing this malpractice.

I must be found dumb. Where are the intake ports on that Ferrari engine? -

The real cars were painted silver. Saw them at Road America, Road Atlanta and Sebring...The cars were fast and really quiet with pretty much a woosh and sound of the air going over the body/tire noise at high speed. Really a spectacle! -
Grzegorz, you are a "mad man"! This is awesome, I thought it was a die cast and wondered how someone got the data to create this car so quickly. LOL. Can you create a thread on how you create these models that you so awesomely make? How do you start the design (drawing?), create the shapes, interiors, wheels, etc etc? Love your work.

@Rob Hall, that 911SCRS....I believe the new FIA head Honcho, Mohammad Bin Sualyem drove that car.....I like your tastes in models, have fun building!

I got kicked out of the basement with my spray booth last year. I moved it to my outside separate garage and sprayed a few items but it wasn't clean and warm environment. So I am taking on building a separate little space about 8' x 5' inside the garage, for my spray painting activities. I lose car parking space, but still think that I can wedge two small cars (Miata and 323GTX) inside for the winter. A few criteria for my room: Dry Heated Insulated Clean MicroMark spray booth vented outside Electric separate from main garage via wall switch Easy build that can be removed pretty easily Concrete floor covered with soft removable padding for comfort and replacement when stained with paint Pretty much got the basics covered and just got the electrical sorted last night with help from a buddy knowledgeable in the subject. I had to tear out the drywall in parts to route the wiring, next step is to patch it back up and mud it in. Still have a bit to go with more drywall and door installation. Here are a few pics of my new workspace. If you guys have any suggestions or tips of what might be cool features to have in my model paint cave, please have at it! Right now I have no plans for anything other than the booth. Notice I have the old built in shelves that motor oil and other real car parts were on. Hope I don't get fish eyes from any residuals.... Here is the building - the fumes will exit the window there on the right next to the doors... Here is the rough construction - never did this stuff before, pretty simple. I did not tie this into the wall or the large beam spanning the garage, it was an "interference fit" then screwed together. It is very stable and sturdy. Here is reference of scale in the garage. I will still use the garage as a shop for real cars and my bikes... Then my buddy came over, we discussed the electrical needs, did some work and told me to run the wiring so he can come back and hook it up. I could have easily run the wiring OUTSIDE the walls, but that would look terrible, so I cut the drywall out, drilled holes and ran the wiring for a switched outlet on the top for a flourescent or LED fixture hanging from the ceiling. He came over with this nice paint bucket of tools which was real nicely stocked....I like tools. Oddly we were both VW trained mechanics at the apprentice centers in Illinois and Michigan respectively, and share many of the same stories and memories. How we have similar interests is really strange... Then He came back a few days later and hooked up the wires and Viola! A switched circuit up at the top where I screwed a temporary LED bulb in so I can work in the room and finish it off! We celebrated with a few beers last night and some great stories.... Here is where I am today, and want to finish this off before Christmas so I can paint some models....but think I want to be at the bench today working on my hobby and maybe later get out in the garage to do what I dislike most, that is drywall work....

Aaron, thanks for sharing your build of this kit. Excellent results so far and it will really look great when finished. I built this kit back when it FIRST came out. Still have it and looks good still in my model cabinet. Expect yours to last 45 years or more! -

1999 Chevy Silverado
steveracer replied to Sergey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Oh I like this truck and especially your work Sergey! I owned a 99 GMC Sierra just like this. It was the best truck ever and miss it and the simplicity. I will keep watching your work. Looks like you started this a long time ago and took a long break. Take care. -
Hey Guys, thanks! This is not my favorite Camaro design by any stretch, however, when I was in college, this round slipper style was all the direction that we were turning to with our designs. Beginning with the Corvette Indy, which I really enjoyed, this design language was developed into the Camaro and Firebird of this era. The design hasn't really worn all that well through the years since, but I tried to make the best of it with the wheels. With the OEM wheels the car is just meh. The nice wheel and tire package really make the car more acceptable.

Love that diorama too! Bus looks like it was stolen off the dealers lot with fake plates. Good job on the details! -
Here is a finished 93 Chevy. Dark metallic green from a testors can. Aftermarket wheels and a lowered suspension. Here are a few pics. by the way. What is “pau”? thanks for looking!

Love (the) Bug! I used to work on those and it looks like your engine needs some head studs and a valve job! It is that real! Awesome.

This car looks soooo just right! Tell us more about the model. Like does the trunk open? How did you do the chrome?

Very nice! I love the side view stance of the blue one. I second the Tamiya brush. I have one and it is awesome to pick up little pieces of lint and dirt from models. Get one, you will love it!

Mack DM 600 steel hood dump truck

Looking great! I love conversions like this. I built a balsa cab over Pete when I was a kit because I saw it in Car Modeler magazine...these type of projects remind me of the fun of getting out of my wheelhouse that I never do anymore. So I am living vicariously through watching fun builds like yours! -
Hey guys thanks for the kudos - especially on the paint. I sprayed it and let it sit for several months - almost s year before I got back to the build. I did not have to sand it at all but used the 3 part Novus polishing scheme careful not to go through the paint on the sharp features. I rarely if ever clear my models unless I have to seal decals or something. I got pretty lucky with this one. I built a brushed blue one as a kid so I had fun reliving my childhood.

Oohhhhh. I like this build! Keep it up almost home! -
Tom looks awesome and my favorite color to boot! When I was 16, my cousin had this EXACT same car but with the rally wheels. He took me for a ride in that 427 that to this day I will NEVER forget! You built a beautiful replica of a perfectly brutal sports musclecar!

Thanks everyone. AMT68 that is a rejected OEM non-slip part from the mobility ramp from those ugly MV-1 vehicles from about 7 years ago! Our company built those ramps. Basically any non slip stick on part will do. Maybe available from Granger? also I will do a quickie build up on the background in dioramas in the next day or two. It is not complete but good enough for now!

Built this a little while ago, and just cleaned up and finished the convertible top. Showing off my new photo area too....? Box stock, Testors red out of a can, rubbed out. A very basic kit but builds up real easy.
