Resin Dodge W11 Hubcaps on Ebay 10/7
steveracer replied to Dodge Driver's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I am looking for the W11 covers - the one on the left. Is this thread about these, and does anyone have a source for four? -
YES!

Guys, its warming up and sunny here in Michigan, which is rare, and it is now eating into my model building time as I am obligated to spend time outdoors doing outdoors things! So look at it as time to get to the bench till it melts! Also, DST, just leave it the way it is NOW, ya get up in the dark anyway....

I lost an hour of bench time tonight.

We were towing through New York a few years back. On the side of the freeway, just past the Davenport exit was....guess what? a Davenport.

Looks great, excellent color and nice clean build! Thanks for sharing, I love the 1/16 scale models and seems the proportions of the molded kit are spot on.

A Pair of Revell 1970 Pontiac Trans Am's.
steveracer replied to Dragonhawk1066's topic in Model Cars
Really fun to see these nicely built cars together. Great job. I have had that kit for a long time, want to build it with a few modifications some day. The early body style is so classic. Does someone make a resin Formula hood for conversions? -
Super deal! How is that Volvo kit? Pretty nice?

Found a can of aluminum metalizer buffing spray! Paid full price but had to grab it along with a bottle of MM chrome
-
I bought some in a spray can, to use on windows (as apparently intended). I sprayed it on so light and so thin, yet is just puddled around the edges and was inconsistent across a relative flat piece of clear plastic. Be careful with this stuff, it is really really thin - or at least MY can was that way.

Awesome clean build, Tamiya sure get the proportions and surfaces just right on this car. Makes it fun to build. How many parts in this kit, is there an engine?

Hobby lobby and tamiya primer
steveracer replied to fivesuns's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
OK I went to the Mr Hobby website, what a hot mess. I have a can of 500 and 1000 primer surfacer. Haven't used them yet. Can't read the characters on the cans What is the difference? -
Rich that is awesome! I didn't see your WIP however I will have to take a look and see how you made the wheel covers. I need some bespoke covers for a project I am working on... I see your family car had the optional vertical parking or city lights. I think this was a rare option on the 67 and even 68 models. This car looks awesome, glad the 4 door was offered as a kit!

Great build on a terrible kit....It looks great.? As this was the ugliest version of that body TransAm, your build makes the car looks great. Have you entertained building this from MPC in 1/16 scale? I just saw that kit the other day and passed, however maybe you would be interested? Your interior detail is nice. There was a blue one like this on Bring A Trailer this week, did you see it? Blue interior as well!

Sneak peek ....The IMC Tanker Trailer kit is back !!!
steveracer replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I’m building the tanker right now on my bench. Gonna be my first light weathering job. here it is with wheels just mocked up. I see where this would be the cats meow for a short bed build that’s the pre-funny car rake chassis for the L700 in the foreground I raised the front with some spare trailer parts that went unused -
That’s an interesting kit to build. Never saw this one. I will be watching!

Thanks for sharing your high quality builds. Personally, I really love the Vette. White looks so nice on that car.

I second the stone trick. Use it all the time. It’s wuicker than changing the blades too.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
steveracer replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That "Hurst" (LOL) is just creepy cool....but still creepy. (The music dude in Slingblade called it a "hurst") There is a guy around here that takes one to shows in the summer, with a coffin and all in the back....super creepy. -
Cool to see a Fury 1 mom and pop ride! I have this JoHan kit and was wondering how it would look as such. Thanks for the great work on this kit, love dowdy classics for the blue collar set from the 60's.

1:12 scale Ferrari 312T
steveracer replied to JohnnyK's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
I was following your six wheeler on I think the old Scale Model site, and it looks like you made it to the end! When I first saw the photo in the quote above, somehow I saw Robert Smith immediately.... Gonna tag along and follow your build of this car. Just last night the wife and I watched for the first time, Rush.
