  1. Uh, I was duped twice. I built two Palmer models when I was a kid. A corvette and jiminy crickets, I think it was a mustang or some other junk.
  2. Cool! Thanks Snake45, got it and will git er done. That paint with clear should be plenty dry to sand and polish after 40 years, ya think? So do I need to wait for April - or probably in my case, October 2021 to be able to start the Triumph? Or can I start it soon and have it done by end of the year? In other words, simply are these 90 day or 365 day projects?
  3. Tony, hope the November show happens too! I have some cash and need a place to spend it! A tip for the organizers, perhaps MORE tables for display models, as there will be a glut of entries for sure. Is that possible? Last show a year ago it was really crowded around the tables as it was! See everyone in November.
  4. Well, this Camaro was started in 1977 or 1978, and the paint has been curing for that long. Thing is, I am almost done with it as I have revived the build before I read this thread. Can I play? Alternatively or in addition, I have this TR8 that I started about the same time. LOL, this is a curbside kit that now looks like this.... Do reconstructions count? I have some of those to complete.
  5. Good list keep em coming. in reality we have a large selection of classic and newer tool kits we can build and modify. Any current full size pickup 71 buick Rivera 73 montego stock car 71 coupe deville 71 imperial
  6. Yea. Went back to p1 and referenced a prior event so I stopped there. I’ll see what I can find in page 2.
  7. Not sure what this is. But I can make an assumption. About a model started many years ago. Shelved. Picked up amd finished in a short amount of time? Like a week or so? im interested.
  8. Love 20 year projects. This one looks great. I suspect the pair has hardened by now as well.....
  9. Congratulations! On the retirement. The pup. And on the models! Really like the rail. Colors look awesome.
  10. Well it does require some assembly...
  11. Yea, it is almost all gone. Just found another Italian Red spray, as well as the last aluminum metalizer buffing in a spray! Jackpot!
  12. Got it. now how long is it going to take to add the rivets? I am interested to see what process you use
  13. Why did you repaint that part red? Isn't it part of the original main body part?
  14. I was reading in a now locked thread, that the R10 was planned to be reissued by Revell at the end of 2020. Does anyone know the status of this kit, if it is going to be available again? I am interested in building this car.
  15. Nice to see a restoration of an old kit and it’s looking good! Looks like you were able to get the cab to sit level. Typically on these kits the cab tilts down at the front. what did you do to get the correct angle of the cab? I have the repop of this kit with the tanker trailer on my bench and want to get the correct look.
  16. Kurt, no need to worry about a "race" car meeting the rules of the road. As you know, all RALLY cars have VIN's, are licensed, insured and road legal, so you will pass tech. Are you going to install that engine in the model? I have this kit but the lack of engine is kinda lame....so I will be watching.
  17. Here is one that I built in JUNIOR HIGH! The art class teacher, MR Greenwell, was convinced by a certain person (ahem) that model building is an art and allowed us a few weeks to build models and get graded. He gave me an A-. I was disappointed.
  18. PayPal shipping using UPS is a few bucks less expensive than EBay's per my last two transactions.
  19. Right now I still have Paypal with ebay, although I expect that to change....so it is the same old way for a person like myself with Paypal, it goes immediately into my account. This may not last long however. And when they force me to change, I am out, as the fees go from 10% to 12.5 percent.... Edited to understand PP now takes 3% versus the additional 2.5% over the 10 that ebay takes according to anoter poster above. And I wasted a lot of time last weekend reading this stuff.....I haven't sold much on ebay until just lately and things sure seem to have gotten expensive...Jeez.
  20. What are the details on this? What did you start with, and what modifications were done to get this look? The tree know and Mercury were quite different bodies, and yours looks great - I want one too!
  21. Beauty, love the color and the detail you did on the grille, headlight side trim, and rear panel....looks awesome and that detail makes the model!
  22. Mike, beautiful work and awesome subject matter! You have owned some beautiful cars in your life, congratulations! Perhaps there is or can be a thread started, where people can post replicas of cars and trucks they have owned...you may have started something!
  23. Among other details, today I polished a windshield for a rehab I am working on. There were glue slobs on it, so I started with an x-acto and lightly took the glue down, then sanded with 600 to start.... I was not expecting exact results, and didn't get them as the glue from 30 plus years was etched into the clear plastic. So I started with the 2400, 3200, then the 3600 and all the way to finish. It is good enough for what I am doing.
  24. I don't know my AH cars, but this was a Revell kit that I built. Is the 3000 a different body than this?
