Lots of work there Kurt! Came out looking awesome almost like there was one kit with all the parts to build this version. Love that it all stayed in the Toyota family!
  2. To support Pete’s comment. There are a LOT of items on eBay that have real high starting prices. Looking for that one uninformed person to make the purchase. There is NO cost to list anything at any price. It’s free. I have even seen some mundane items listed at over a thousand dollars. Not sure what those may be for, perhaps drive traffic to the eBay store when “most expensive” is selected to sort out searches.
  3. This is awesome. Wife and I build puzzles during the winter months, currently on a Road America aerial view with lots of trees! Gonna get us one of these when they come out. Support the industry.
  4. Build the Peugeot 205T16 from Tamiya. It has a full engine. Tamiya's Audi Quattro has somewhat of an engine and looks pretty decent.... The Group 4 Fiat 131 Abarth also from Tamiya, has a full engine. The Group 4 Lancia Stratos from Revell has an engine. As well the larger scale at 1/12 and 1/10 kits of the Stratos have engines You could create a TdF Group 4 Porsche 934 from the Tamiya kit if you want to scratch some parts, and I found a great link for RP rally parts here.... https://en.kmp-sm.com/cars-1-12 Also, the Raid cars from Tamiya, both Peugeots T16 variants, have engines.... My Hasegawa 037 has an engine, however you would need to open the engine cover and scratch build the details.
  5. Cool build to follow! My, how criminal it is to allow Lancia to fall to the lows it is today with one "fashion car" to sell in Italy. I'm gonna subscribe to this. BTW, I really love the dolly, did you build this or buy a kit of the trolly? Makes the images so much more fun to look at!
  6. Ian, I have a story going on on another forum strictly for formula one cars, not sure if you are there or not, but don't think it is prudent to have two going at the same time or hijack your story. Oddly, I am getting to the same point with the engine and headers as you are! Only difference I cannot remove the headers from the engine case, they are really glued in there, so I am working around the issue, kinda like rusty bolts and nuts on the exhaust system so "leave sleeping dogs lie". Think I may just lay a little glue in those collector joints to fill the gaps.... Keep up the good work!
  7. GoodbuildNY - that is a fantastic build and very nice attention to detail! I bought this kit a few months back and now look more forward to building it thanks to you sharing your work. The rear end details of the taillights, moldings and SS panel look so very sweet.... Thanks man!
  8. Where are you guys finding the Model Master Paints? When I look online, I see it being sold for $13 per little jar.....
  9. Ian, on your battery detail, how did you get the yellow caps to appear that they are actually glued on the black battery? Meaning the demarcation line of the paint is perfect on such a small part....
  10. Uh, I was duped twice. I built two Palmer models when I was a kid. A corvette and jiminy crickets, I think it was a mustang or some other junk.
  11. Cool! Thanks Snake45, got it and will git er done. That paint with clear should be plenty dry to sand and polish after 40 years, ya think? So do I need to wait for April - or probably in my case, October 2021 to be able to start the Triumph? Or can I start it soon and have it done by end of the year? In other words, simply are these 90 day or 365 day projects?
  12. Tony, hope the November show happens too! I have some cash and need a place to spend it! A tip for the organizers, perhaps MORE tables for display models, as there will be a glut of entries for sure. Is that possible? Last show a year ago it was really crowded around the tables as it was! See everyone in November.
  13. Well, this Camaro was started in 1977 or 1978, and the paint has been curing for that long. Thing is, I am almost done with it as I have revived the build before I read this thread. Can I play? Alternatively or in addition, I have this TR8 that I started about the same time. LOL, this is a curbside kit that now looks like this.... Do reconstructions count? I have some of those to complete.
  14. Good list keep em coming. in reality we have a large selection of classic and newer tool kits we can build and modify. Any current full size pickup 71 buick Rivera 73 montego stock car 71 coupe deville 71 imperial
  15. Yea. Went back to p1 and referenced a prior event so I stopped there. I’ll see what I can find in page 2.
  16. Not sure what this is. But I can make an assumption. About a model started many years ago. Shelved. Picked up amd finished in a short amount of time? Like a week or so? im interested.
  17. Love 20 year projects. This one looks great. I suspect the pair has hardened by now as well.....
  18. Congratulations! On the retirement. The pup. And on the models! Really like the rail. Colors look awesome.
  19. Well it does require some assembly...
  20. Yea, it is almost all gone. Just found another Italian Red spray, as well as the last aluminum metalizer buffing in a spray! Jackpot!
  21. Got it. now how long is it going to take to add the rivets? I am interested to see what process you use
  22. Why did you repaint that part red? Isn't it part of the original main body part?
  23. I was reading in a now locked thread, that the R10 was planned to be reissued by Revell at the end of 2020. Does anyone know the status of this kit, if it is going to be available again? I am interested in building this car.
  24. Nice to see a restoration of an old kit and it’s looking good! Looks like you were able to get the cab to sit level. Typically on these kits the cab tilts down at the front. what did you do to get the correct angle of the cab? I have the repop of this kit with the tanker trailer on my bench and want to get the correct look.
  25. Kurt, no need to worry about a "race" car meeting the rules of the road. As you know, all RALLY cars have VIN's, are licensed, insured and road legal, so you will pass tech. Are you going to install that engine in the model? I have this kit but the lack of engine is kinda lame....so I will be watching.
