  1. I am the older guy that Luc is referring to as well. Plus I owned a GMT800 1999 Sierra and currently have a newer F150 4 door. I would love to build these trucks as I already have a few of my own cars in smaller scale. Trucks are cool, very popular and the options to customize and modify are endless for the builder and the manufcturers.
  2. Exactly Jordan. I am one of those middle age old age guys Luc references. I owned. 99 GMT800 Sierra and currently own a newer F150 and I am the guy wanting to build my vehicles. Including pickups. You can do so much with the stock kit it is endless!
  3. Real question here,,,,why don't people want to model newer years of American full size pickups?
  4. Wow. That whole set is some great work. Looks awesome especially how gravity has acted upon the lines and cables and such. That is hard to get right. Love the Volvo being repaired. That tractor may or may not get a restoration if those guys ever get finished with the job at hand! Thanks for sharing. I am just getting into building “stuff” for my shop.
  5. Truck finally arrived with the 215 V8 block and parts along with the transmission to fit into the TR8. Looks like inventory time now to see what we all got. Iceman shipped it LTL freight from Ohio and only took a few days to get here through the storms. look for a separate WIP build soon!
  6. I would like to see what is inside that TR7 box. The molding and proportions are real nice on the Monogram kit. I will be starting a WIP of the other kit (have 2 of them) that I started in the 80's and never finished. I have a special delivery coming via freight in the coming days, and should make the car run real nice...
  7. MoparD, yes I thinned it with Lacquer thinner from Lowes. Maybe 40% paint, 60% LT, but it depends on the consistency of what is in the bottle. And if you use Lacquer thinner, do NOT put it back in the jar unless you plan to use it in the next week or two, it will gel up and be unusable. Yes, I am going to weather it, I got a plan but like many plans guys make, it will be improv night here at the bench!
  8. A little work on the interior, and messing it up a bit. Think I need to make some sandwich wrappers, some smokes and a few PBR cans on the floor to make it more "inviting".
  9. I think this is one of the models identified here?
  10. Excellent work on the kit and photos. ???
  11. That’s cool to see your development work Gary. Now are you going to put some payload on it or leave it as it left the dealer?
  12. I’m going to paint models with colors I have in stock rather than what colors I would like to paint them. Fortunately I have a lot of stock but mostly grays and reds.
  13. Nice build. I like older F1 cars and this is fun to look at. gray base FTW.
  14. Car looks nice! Is that the boss man coming in late to catch up on some paper work ? He drives a nice green machine.
  15. Nice model I like it! Never saw one built and was great to take photos of the interior before final assembly.
  16. The "professional" children are some of the worst drivers. I won't go into it but we all know how formation driving works with these clowns, then speed up when past the other truck....
  17. Here is mine. Low maintenance…. clean…
  18. I was entertained yesterday. First, the mail woman couldn’t get up the hill on our unplowed road. I went out to help and knew where to quickly shovel as the snow drag was stopping progress. She backed up and got a run. Made it halfway. I asked her if she could do the exact thing again. She enthusiastically answered “YES”! I shoveled a little more. As you can see from the “other shot” you come downhill on dirt into a 90 left then uphill. She backed it halfway up that hill and nailed it and had it sideways and opposite lock with the throttle punched!!! So cool to see as she made it up to the top to deliver the mail! Attitude baby! We exchanged stories and off she went. then this clown gets stuck down there. Didn’t want any advice or help. Didn’t want water, hot chocolate or coffee. Fine. He called a service crew to winch him up the hill. Good all ages entertainment from the comfort of our home. ?
  19. I use it at times when I need a part to stick on, and I can adjust from there. Larger parts that is. I use it for the wheel/tires on say, monogram stock cars where I need the car to set right and adjust the wheel alignment. Let sit overnight and boom…..
  20. Welcome Gary, looks like you found the right place. We build a lot of stuff, and talk a lot of model building stuff. Don't know how we find time for anything else. Spent some time in Cadillac back in the day. Really nice up there.
  21. Pretty cool. Never saw one of these built before! the early days of Tamiya!
  22. Wow thank you for the fast reply! I will order one tomorrow. I will have to mod it a bit but hey, that’s modeling!
  23. Does anyone know of a model kit or resin piece available for the aluminum block V8? Need one for my TR8 project.
  24. I am liking this build. Very nice.
  25. Here is mine that I built back when this kit first came out. there is a delivery I gotta check on so I will be right back. I’m expecting a load of some racing parts that I am getting from The Rod Shop. Gotta get some cash so I’ll be back in a bit.
