  1. Here's a couple rescues. The sedan is pretty much as found, just a little clean up, re-attached the rear wheels, and headers The 5 window was missing valve covers, intake, and headers, replaced those and a bit of clean-up May add some headlights at some point..
  2. It amazes me there isn't even a 1/24 diecast. lotsa 1/64, a ton of 1/43, some real nice 1/18, even a couple 1/12 I think, but NO 1/24.... I vaguely remember reading somewhere, (probably not true) That the reason the Gunze kit was never re-issued is because of licensing problems with Shelby American and the current (at that time) owner of the car. I would be happy with a reissue of the Gunze all in plastic, with the photo-etch fret. I can't imagine they wouldn't sell a ton of them. (Hey Revell!, you listening??!!)
  3. here's some info on em.. plus an oddball I've never seen.. Daytona Cobra
  4. Very nice Steve!! They do build up to a nice replica...
  5. I don't think I could afford the court costs, much less the alimony...
  6. stunning build. I have a hankerin to tackle the MFH 67 Gurney Eagle F1, but I don't know if my 65 year old eyes and fingers can handle it.. sure wish someone did the Eagle in 24/25th...
  7. Thanks Ray!
  8. OK Bud, where'd you get the flares??
  9. Awe, c'mon man... I think I'll just throw mine away... Actually, I thank guys like you and Codi and JC and Phil and Comp and ALL the rest that just keep pushing the envelope a little further AND are nice enough to show us HOW you do it. And to try to keep the scale fidelity like with the motor/exhaust mount is amazing I think it's truly unfair that 99% of the people that will see this motor will see it on their computer monitor, and won't TRULY realize how small and intricate these parts are. This is watchmaking stuff here folks. Amazing....
  10. I hope to. I have a couple things to finish before I start another science project...
  11. Thanks JC, Great thread for anyone inclined to build a Coupe. I too believe the Gunze is far closer to 1/25th than 1/24th. we'll see in a couple days. I have always liked the AMT. actually a great kit considering it came out in 1962?? I wonder who did the original modeling and patterns.. I like the Sunny, also. all you need is a nice rack and pinion and some side louvers and you can cover a lot of cars with those two kits.. I have a guy working on some 3d louvers for the fenders, IF I can get him to do it...
  12. Thanks to all for the responses. Beautiful Car Len! and your HRM is stunning! Len: is the HRM kit based on the Gunze?? I have found one locally, should pick it up the 1st of next week... I have wanted one since they came out. shoulda snagged one when they were 50 bucks... lol
  13. man, those are just pretty cars... in a very utilitarian way
  14. Nicely done Rex.. Are those the pieces that HRM uses for his full kit? Did you ever figure out which chassis number it most closely represents? I know it's a curbside, and I will likely open the hood and add engine detail. What I need is another science project. lol.. nice looking model..
  15. That's AWESOME.. I have a whole mess of Ford Trans Am cars planned out. Biggest thing missing is a decent 67-68 Cougar for Jones and Gurney
  16. I see photos of kits, and folks talking ABOUT them, but has anyone actually BUILT one?? I REALLY have a hankering to get one, I'm not afraid of the photo-etch and metal parts, But I have NEVER seen a built one... Show me yer Daytonas!!
  17. Thank you sir!!
  18. Ok, where do we find one of these?? What is it called? Amazing work Randy!
  19. Thanks for all the kind words!! Means a lot!
  20. another article re Spencer's T Birds. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/2013/08/09/a-bird-in-the-hand-both-doane-spencer-thunderbirds-head-to-auction?refer=news&utm_source=edaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2020-10-04
  21. Doane built a couple 56's. One in the 50's, and one in the 80's I believe with later running gear for a friend. Plus Ford built some black 56's; https://www.quartoknows.com/blog/quartodrives/ford-total-performance-the-start-of-something-big would've been more, except the manufacturers got out of direct involvement with motorsports in 1957 (Edit: Spencer's original T-Brd was a 55, according to Hemmings.
  22. The next project will be finishing the dash. and the side exhaust. There just isn't enough room between the bottom of the chassis plate, and the bottom of the body to put a 3/32" piece of tube. I will probably have to fudge it a bit..
