Your paint work is really good!

Yep! I used a duplicolor white primer. I can’t seem to get BMF to stick right and not have creases in it but I tried painting this time. Used Tamiya tape and had good luck with it not bleeding but could have put the tape on a little better. First time trying this so lesson learned

I have a couple of these in my stack. Enjoy watching your build and the tips and you have. Can’t wait to see more!

I will have to read the can again when I get home. it’s a Duplicolor dark blue for some Toyota (?) is what I remember. I did have time to add some silver details. First time adding any stripes ans happy with how it came out so far! Have it lightly held together for a quick picture but will get back to some more detailing work this evening or weekend I hope.

Spent today prepping and painting a new project 48 Ford kit from Grease. Not the best at gluing pieces together once they are painted so I try and get as much glued together as I can then paint it all.

That looks really good! WOW -
Well after several months of work and life in the way… luckily last week had some life settle down again and could do a little painting and putting it together. Trying not to rush as being off the project so long want to get onto something new but overall compared to my previous 8-9 builds this is coming along nicer than I expected

Wow that’s very cool

Amazing build and amazing history lesson for someone born in the late 80s I had no idea how the air pumps and other emissions items worked. Love this site for that level of personal information more than anything -
Looks great!

What do you use to pin the handles to the side?

I assume he is asking about the re release that was just announced last week I believe? If so I haven’t seen any news of it on their website.

Okay was at Autozone today and picked up a couple cans of Dupli Color spray paints I used to prime/paint. Sprayed 2 light coats then a heavy third/final coat. So far it’s looking good to my eyes and paint doesn’t seem to be doing anything funky yet....

Wow been longer than I thought... Haven’t had any time but to walk by my models to and from work for awhile but I should have some time now. I just stripped this and have had it sitting in the garage workstation until today. Going to try and primer it again and use a different color I will hopefully get to pick/spray sometime this week/weekend if life doesn’t get in the way again....
